BK2 axles... options

I can't find any BK2 axles anywhere :-(

With the stock of BK2 axles apparently all gone, what are the options to push the driveshaft far enough into the outdrive to gain enough droop?

Lee 04-09-2008 03:50 PM

drill the hole 2mm further out on the AE axle, i have done it with a pedestal drill, its not dead easy but it is possible :(

bigred5765 04-09-2008 03:54 PM

yipp what lee said,

_sleigh_ 04-09-2008 03:57 PM

I smell an opening for a "TrishBit" edition axle...............

niggs98 04-09-2008 04:17 PM

trish is already doing them if you send him a set of axles, i know of a couple of peeps who have already done this with good results

_sleigh_ 04-09-2008 04:46 PM

I knew he'd be on the ball...

Body Paint 04-09-2008 05:58 PM

You can get really close to our droop with the stock axles to be fair, not bang on but close but the issue with the B4 ones is that if you raise the tranny you have to limit the shocks.

As the others have said though just get the B4 ones drilled and run thin nuts.

But we are also fully on sorting the issue out as well.

Didn't know your car used BK2 axles any way :p

Cheers Hugh

I wondered what those crazy shafts were all about

Drilling the shafts looks like the easier option though.

But this doesn't seem to be a custom axle, it seems to be a custom Bone! :o

I don't want to know how you did it... :woot: Yes! i want to know!

is it an aluminium tube! have you cutted the bone! and... glue the bone to the tube?

Thank you for your help.

_sleigh_ 06-10-2008 10:03 PM

If any of you are still looking for the BK2 CVD axle, then have a look on eBay for the complete BK2 CVD set (LOSI A9984). I managed to pick up a brand new set for £11.

Just looked now and there's only 2nd hand pairs, but definately worth keeping an eye out.

stegger 06-10-2008 10:18 PM

Thats what i got a new set for:thumbsup: inc postage all the way from anchorage alaska:woot::woot::woot:

YoungChazz 07-10-2008 02:20 AM

I can now confirm that we will have the longer axles in stock soon. They will be under an X Factory part number, and will be identical in every way to the BK II axle from Losi. Don't have a shipping date yet, but my fingers are crossed that we will have them in late October. Of course we'll announce it on www.2wdrc.com

That's great news! The wheel nuts keep falling off the B4 axles I drilled

super__dan 07-10-2008 11:51 AM

Craig, turn them round, I do that on the wheel nuts front and rear on X5 and rear only on X6, Getts the nyloc fully onto the thread.

Lee 07-10-2008 12:14 PM

I'll second that, i had to do that when i drilled mine.

Body Paint 07-10-2008 01:12 PM

I drilled the holes for the pins a bit far out so even backwards nuts fall off :(

Lee 07-10-2008 01:21 PM

I think you need to drill some more then

I know losi did some thinner nuts with nyloc, in packs of 3, maybe if you can get hold of some give these a try

Body Paint 07-10-2008 02:28 PM

I'll just keep tightening my nuts regularly for a few more weeks till the X factory ones arrive to relieve the situation :eh?::D

matdodd 07-10-2008 07:15 PM

Thats good news  saves me looking on ebay

Body Paint 07-10-2008 07:53 PM

Are they for you're X6 Matt :p

matdodd 07-10-2008 08:08 PM

You know what mate they are :p
