Durango at the Worlds
Found this pic of someones 210, took a while to figure it out.
Low gear box.. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ndhanna/td.jpg Lutz http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...dhanna/td2.jpg http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2013Race...EUR_9653-L.jpg Still the +8 alu chassis thats NOT released http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2013Race...EUR_9683-L.jpg http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2013Race...EUR_9696-L.jpg Hupo http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2013Race...EUR_9957-L.jpg http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2013Race...EUR_9958-L.jpg Current European Champion Joern Neumann said considering the lack of mileage with Durango’s latest prototype, which he only got to run for the first time today, free practice had gone ok. Describing the new buggy as ‘much better’ than its predecessor he said they are still learning how it reacts to set-up changes. Using the last practice to try a different front tyre he said the JConcepts Barcodes gave the buggy understeer and so he will revert to back to their Dirt Webs |

...and Hupos car, both use the new front a-arms too!

Nice! Keep us posted if you see any more :)
|
There are a few interesting new things you can see in the pics from the Worlds, rear arms with holes for front or rear mounted shocks, more shock mounting positions on the front and rear towers.

micholix
The first car is Jörns |

so are we looking at a V2? Or just prototype parts?

More V2 news
http://www.neobuggy.net/2013/09/24/t...-v2-spy-shots/ Looks like new: Front arms Shocks Caps Springs?? Whats on Jörns car, there are a lot more coils. Slipper from a MR2?? Looks similar Hex on front? or SC bits there? Ball cups Gear box Rear link mountings like the Tresrey ones Rear towers of corse to fit the gear box but with more inner holes LRC RR hanger REar hubs |
Not just that, seems like the rear inner hinge pins are further apart than usual, too (much like on the X6). Also, note the 'regular' CVDs (instead of the captive ones inside the ball bearing) and the different outdrives.
Looking at the finish of the gear casing, I would say it is actually 3D printed, which could mean the gearbox internals (like diff and slipper) are not actually Durango parts yet at the moment... |

Sorry for that much postings, but i can just upload one pic per post, with my ipad!?

Bit of a stinker for durango at the world's. Not even 1 car in the A finals

Btw, Definetely seems like a 3D printed gear casing there. |
Some of those parts were already used at the euros. The car at the worls seems to be more 'production-ready' but pretty similar design i'd say.
|
yes all this belt drive hype and what was in the final C4.2 and how old is that original design
|
Driving a car that they got a week before sounds stupid.
DEX410 will probably be a lot more competitive. Joern is damn good on high grip when the car works. |
yep you are so right, you do not do your development in public a real dumb assed idea, yet Schumacher did the same thing

There are other factors too - a major one may be that the track couldn't be as consistently prepped as usual due to the weather... Struggling with an untested car is one thing, if the grip levels change in the meantime that doesn't help either. All in all it's pretty disappointing though: I thought TD could have been in shape to actually take the Worlds, especially after the win at the Euros with a prototype 210. Ah well, let's give them time to further develop the 210V2 so it will be the dominant car on the grid  |

Schumacher had the SV2 and the prototype belt drive car. Tom chose to run the prototype. That prototype looks pretty close to production based on the shell off pictures and article on redrc |
and the body looks factory as well, a big expense just for a prototype, the same reason I figured the 22-4 was near production ready from the first spy shots of the car. Still disapointed to see no Durango cars in the show, and that no one runs the xfactory car... 4wd should go will for the TD team hopefully, nothing to radical for the v4 car unless they're running a prototype new car/v5

Only XRAY and losi shy away from testing at competition |

Nothing wrong with being an actual event. I just should have been a less important event. Sugared tracks are not likely to be the norm for local tracks and club racing, which is were most purchased products will be used. |
Jörns proto
He said he tried the old car and the new and settled on the new as it was better. Saying in one of the previous rounds that the old car was too aggressiv and the new had understeer but safer If and when they release this if being the main word then I could absolutly swap back to the 410 http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...umlrnproto.jpg And Lutz http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3.../lutzproto.jpg |

So for the events (the races the sponsored guys will be attending) this is valuable experience. Also there are pictures on Neo, of the car in what looks a shorty configuration, i.e. like kyosho and HB layouts |
Nice to see a new layout in the 4WD.
Putting the lipos so far back looks fresh. EDIT: I think there might be different prototypes going around the track. http://gallery.neobuggy.net/2013Race...T4_1836-X2.jpg |

Rear driveshaft.

Nice. I hope these make production. Much more durable/reliable and rugged than the current cvd's.

Thats not a v3 ;)

Dex410 Prototype chassis plate?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone!
Some speculation.... ;) I had a closer look at the prototype chassis plate i found on neobuggy. It looks like, the metalplate in the middle is out of different material( not aluminium) than the chassis and with more or less screws you can increase chassisflex!? What do you think? |

I wouldn't have bothered with the esc + receiver opposite a shorty. Maybe motor opposite a shorty - easily done if you flip the diffs to get the right rotation. Saddles all the way back, with the spur assembly moved back too and a proper top brace from rear bulkhead to motor mount might have been worth trying... Plenty of cash spent machining those alloy bulkheads and battery straps.... you'll never see those in a kit box :eh?: |
I bet this is just the bent chassis of Lutz - the brace is bent also - they attached it too low . The chassis under it might be a good one not bent , the guy holding it tries to see the extent of the damage/how badly bent it is

Edit: sorry, you are right, on a closer look, i saw, that the brace have a non paralell angle! |
It was Amezcua running the shorty.
