Tidy build!! Excellent.
What setup are you using? |
Black & White looks superb!!!
|
Lovely Team tub.
|
Thanks guys, glad you like it, I'm really pleased how the build came together :wub
Set up is just kit at the mo, just added B4 springs and 35/30wt oil Elec set up will be a SP LPF with a 13.5 to start with, cml shorty 4000mah pack and a savox low pro servo |
Hi Mark,
Which rear hubs and driveshafts did you fit so you can fit B4 rear wheels. How is for width? |
Low profile servos are definitely the way to go with these, if you use a low profile in conjunction with the thin Xray T3 servo posts, you can mount the posts in front of the servo and get the servo steering link pretty much dead centre rather than a crazy angle.
|
To get the B4 rims to fit you simply need B4 rear hubs, drilled out to 1/8th to accept the RC10 hinge pin, then use rear B44 cvd's and that's it!
To get the front width the same I have used AE T4 in line axles Yes SR I will use a low profile savox in this car, just waiting for the shell to turn up from A main then I'll get it off to the painters and get the elecs installed |

Very nice

Bit of a bump of my thread, some pics of the finished car:

Looks awesome Mark, hope to have mine built soon

Long arms can be found here for better price than Shapeways...

First test run with the wide arms, springs need to be stiffer and taking it easy as not sure how strong the 3d printed arms are

Looks good Marko. I was thinking the same about the 3D printed. Seems a little brittle to me but time will tell.
|
Well took the old old girl out again to Maritime, took a few clips of it running and it went viral after a share from rc car action, I'm up to 61k views!
Great for PR for vintage/my club https://www.facebook.com/mark.headli...3236503876021/ Clips on YouTube now: http://youtu.be/vKejgXBsxd8 http://youtu.be/Qzd5CbCAJks |
Can't leave this car alone! Lol
B5 wing mod, pics speak for themselves http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...F12F375544.jpg http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...8D20FD78AD.jpg http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...EB2DAC3561.jpg |
So some further work on my RC10, gone to AE BB shocks and used a 5mm taller fibre lyte front tower
Looking forward to testing the car tonight at my local club http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...0B65B7D4DA.jpg http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...72CD347C0A.jpg http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...6DEFB21971.jpg http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/y...8E9FD28F3A.jpg |
Looking great Mark! What AE shocks you using the ones that come with the re re?
|
Cheers mate! They are V1 AE big bores off the B4.2
|
Looks awesome Marko,
Lovin the idea of those wing mounts. Great idea...... |
Some running footage on the big bores, needs a stiffer front Spring but a marked improvement over the kit team shocks
http://youtu.be/53Zdp-5UNJI Bit of slow mo (apex missed by a mile!) http://youtu.be/7yq3Zns780g |
May I ask what steering setup you have on your car? I got my Worlds re re recently, and had to replace the kit bushes in the steering bellcranks with ballraces. The bushes were so stiff it would never have worked. It still has quite a lot of slop, I have changed most of the plastic rod ends to RPM where I can.
I was surprised how well the car went at my local track, an outdoor bumpy mixed astro job. Went pretty much as well as my B3, although that needs a bit more work as it jumps nose high. |
The bell cranks were purchased years ago on eBay US, not seen many of them since
Another option are the jconcepts bell cranks, these come with bearings etc or you can just ball race the kit steering Hope this helps |

Cheers Peakey. I might plump for the JC ones rather than risk a nice fee from Parcelfarce! I am running a Savox 1257TG so servo should be ok without the plastic flexing as a saver. My mate has a Works 91 which struggles with getting a decent amount of lock, I dont suppose you have any experience with the A&L in a Yokomo by any chance?

I posted about it the other day, he struggles to get what looks like reasonable steering lock without linkages hitting each other on the bellcranks (it is built correctly). It also has anti ackerman, so the outer wheel has more lock than the inner one. He often complains about understeer, but some setup changes will help if I can get him to do it! I was wondering if the A&L setup would improve things.
