These are the tires allowed to be used at this event: Schumacher Yellow Mini Pins U6608, U6742 or (Schumacher Venom Road tyre U6720 - awaiting approval) :):) Dont forget to pre book, more that do means we can pit in the gym and have a bigger track to race on . :):thumbsup: |
We will have some new ramps & a new table top for this year, so hopefully Matt wont be under it with his tool kit.:thumbsup: |

I'm booked in 2wd and 4wd
|
Cheers muzzie.. and everyone else whom has booked in so far.
We are currently just shy of 30 entries now but I think you might be right Rob. We should be able to manage in the hall. |
How many more do you need to have pitting in the smaller hall (leaving the bigger hall just for the track)?
|
Another 10 to secure the gym. Last year we had roughly 40 pre book and further entries turning up on the day. :D

the new venom tyres are currently unavailable to the public as they are still being tested by various clubs. comments from various club drivers suggest U6720 venom silvers, as not being very good. hopefully for round 2 the new whites and yellows will be available.. |

Be nice to see a few more book in. |

I know what you mean, its no different to club nights, half pre book and the other half turn up on the night or pre book at the last minute.. also pre booking will close 1 week tomorrow (22.10.13), this is to give us time to cancel the gym if need be. |
Fingers crossed some more in then Dave. Be nice to get the gym room as well.
|
now closer to 35 entries
keep them coming :D |
Good news, gym now available for pitting :-D
Keep your pre booking coming :-) |
Roughly 50 drivers have now pre-booked :D, brilliant keep them coming.
Please remember to cover/protect your front shock tower, this is to stop it digging in to the carpet, which also saves the tower too. |
rd1
Excellent turn out for round one, 55 entries in all, 47 of which were 2wd. The new modular table top worked well and can be walked on to marshal cars, fast flowing circuit with technical obstacles. Close racing in all finals.
2wd: 1st Iain Mellish, 2nd Lloyd Storey, 3rd Eugene Galley 4wd: 1st Leigh Richardson, 2nd Abi Bullivant, 3rd James Bullivant (sorry no pics) hope to see you all at the next round and spread the word. Round 2 is on the 23rd November |
Tyres, Additive & Shop
The new venom whites will be allowed in this championship as soon as they are made available.
:D Shop: Autocare & Cycles, I carry a small amount of spares and tires at each round (club nights too). if there is anything you think you may need before each round, let me know (wednesday b4 each round prefered) and i can make sure i have it with me.. most common parts carried are Team C, Associated and Schumacher :) |
Venoms
Big mistake to allow yet another tyre be used, especially with additives. Supposed to be keeping costs down, and level the playing field---a bit:confused:
|
keeping costs down is one of the reasons behind allowing them: from recent testing their grip is similar to pins but they don't wear anywhere near as quick. A couple of guys have been testing them on our club nights and they have no obvious benefits on lap times over pins and seem to run best without additive. Whilst I agree that a level playing field is a good thing, drivers will go with the better tyre at the end of the day.
|
Seeing as it's control tyres, any chance of a discount if we buy them from the club or supporting shop? :woot:
2 sets of mini pins and a set of stagger ribs at retail price = expensive race day! |

A new Schumacher tyre is now available for the buggies part no. U6790, venom road tyre in white compound and works well with a tubby insert. These tires are allowed to be used in the Saturday off road championship.:thumbsup: |
Round 2, 23rd November
Its an excellent off road event, definitely worth a visit, even if i do say so myself :D Plenty of spaces available, always close racing throughout the heats. :) Who will take the glory for rd2, Schumacher or Team C ?? |
Looks like it could be a Team C challenge this Saturday, with most of the Team C team taking part :D
will we see any of the Xray or Schumacher teams or team drivers, to really mix it up :D will be a good one :D |
Shock tower protectors
Intending to come tomorrow, however there is a mention in the rules of shock tower protectors, are these available to buy from the club? FYI, I run an RB6, which the front shock tower seems fairly carpet friendly, unlike the carbon towers and forward facing shock mount screws.
|
I've never known them not to be available from there, they need to get a good stock for tomorrow because there are quite a few new drivers coming
|
I'll need one ;0)
|
My aim for tomorrow was to try and scrape into the B final.......that's gone out the window now:woot:
Be good to see some of the team drivers there from Team C:thumbsup: |
Excellent round with 61 entries, fantastic close racing throughout the heats.
Awesome racing in the top heats, with team c and Schumacher drivers fighting it out. A huge thanks to everyone that took part and to those that helped the running of it Inc track work.. :D Round 3 is 7th December, only 2 weeks away. |
