oOple.com - Trakpower LiPo Competition

LiPo is the future - I'm sure you've all heard that before, but if you haven't yet had the pleasure to use it then Trakpower have kindly offered up some of their super Li-Po (lithium Polymer) cells as competition prizes, read on to see how you could be in with a chance of winning one of these great packs.

The awesome Trakpower prizes on offer are:

1st place: 2 x battery of choice (3200,3200sp, 3600 30c, 4800sp or 4900), balancer and pitpro charger, and T-shirt

2nd place:
1x battery of choice (as above) , balancer, and T-shirt

3rd place:
3200 saddle or stick and a T-shirt.

We want to see how artistic you can be, you don't have to be a top photographer or artist or even have a good camera, we're just after an interesting photo. The theme is 'Sunsets' and the photo should include a setting sun/colourful sky, bit of scenery, and your r/c model car. To make this competition as fair as we can, it is a user judged competition, so once the closing date for submitting photos has passed, take a look at all the photos below, and simply pm me with the name of the person who submitted your favorite image.

A couple of rules:

Please only one competition entry per person.
The photo must be taken by yourself - don't infringe anyone elses copyright!
Photo to include setting sun (or colourful evening sky), and your r/c car (car/truck/buggy/ etc etc).
To enter the competition, simply upload your photo and post it within this thread. If you are having any difficulty posting your photo to this thread then please ask for help.
Entry closing date will be August 25th, after this date anyone wishing to vote can PM me (mrs oople) and nominate their favourite photo.
All votes need to be submitted by PM by August 30th, when the votes will be added, and the top 10 favourite photos will be submitted into a public poll for your final viewing, where you can vote for your favourite of the top 10 selected photos.

The poll closing date will be September 17th, after this date details of the top 3 voted for photos will be requested and submitted to Trakpower for the purpose of distributing prizes.

Please try to keep this competition thread clean, we can have a banter thread elsewhere, but we want to keep all the photos easily accessible in one place, it'll make things easier once it comes to voting.

Good luck, and get snapping!

Vicky

This is when I wish I had a good camera. I have taken some cool, good pictures but they didn't have a sunset in them, just some snow and wet leaves. This one was taken with my mom's cam and featured in RCDriver's April Showoffs :woot: What's a sunset? Down here in hell, we don't have many of them http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/teufel/a045.gif

The car is in the distance, you can just make it out. Well, I can.

Hi guys,

I made a nice sunset shot of a 2WD Buggy at the Offroad Nightrace 2008 in Potsdam near Berlin (Germany). It's the Associated B4 of Michael Vollmer (oople member "siebenelch"). The light was quit low but the ambiance is great.

Greetings from Berlin

I guess I might as well post this now although if we get any sun later on before the entries close I might see about trying some of the other idea's I have.

Wow thats fecking awesome:thumbsup:

glypo 15-08-2008 10:42 AM

Last night sucked for sun. I made a car drive and 2 mile walk up a hill (what can I say, I could really do with some lipo's) in hope of getting good photo for this competition, and all there was was cloud until it got dark, so a long walk downhill through the woods to try another day. Do we get points for trying lol?

If it's sunny tonight I will cry, as it's my Dad's birthday so have to go out for a meal :o

Good luck everyone, but has anyone else got a feeling mole or supergreg have won this already? You both have awesome photos.

mole2k 15-08-2008 10:49 AM

I have to admit I was fairly lucky in that the sky started to clear about 8pm so I took a bit of a drive out to this place which I quite often take pictures at as it's a nice location. I got a few different variations on this theme which is basically just a landscape with an rc car stuck into it :p.

I want to try some action photographs if I get the weather.

Bungleaio 15-08-2008 10:59 AM

I think mole might have the winner right there.

josh_smaxx 15-08-2008 12:05 PM

Think i may have t'pop to t'camera shop and gets me a polarising filter

Still thinking outside the box here, gonna try some of jimmy's ideas from certain reviews, sure some people can guess what they are

Let's hope so for him 'cause he clearly did not read the rules too well :eh?:
It clearly says only 1 picture, so no second chances :D

 leaves us a chance at 2nd or 3rd prize

EDIT: been looking around a bit myself: sunshine : no prob, but scenery? Darn, does anybody appreciate dirty grey office buildings against a colored sky?
