Yesterday's racing 26/5
I really enjoyed yesterday's racing only did 3 rounds due to me having baby buds in tow.
Plenty of new faces and lots of old faces but all with one thing in mind and that's fun. Favorate quote of the day" MARSHALL MARSHALL yes you the one that's texting can you turn my car over" If that was at any other club the texting Marshall would be hung drawn and quartered Buds |
Haha that was well funny
It Was a facepalm moment Was it the guy who marshalling near the humps? |
good day , we even had sun
not my favorite track so far but thanks to who helped set up and pack away , and im sure some people loved it , the track is that adaptable it constantly evolves im gonna try and design a fast flowing track for next time, wide track full size quads so they can be jumped ,and a diagonal straight , and hopefully rob mills will be there to help get the technical but fun bits in it to, any way cheers for a decent day out , back soon i hope |

My favourite was" Marshall don't stand there just staring at it with that stupid look, check the wires are not loose" Thanks for help with car johnny, As a total newby, I enjoyed the track. |

|
nope, about 8 seconds
|
Your all crap give me few meetings to get tuned in and ill be beating you all like dawgs
|
Turned up, FTQ, went home.... Athankyou.
|
To be fair the marshalling is totaly crap people smoking or texting or just a one handed flip instead of a dedicated 2 handed turn over at a decent pace is the bare minimum even at club level you should expect. What I saw was way short having to shout a Marshall who is still thinking about what he was doing last night to turn over your car when you go from 2nd to 9th takes the p*ss if you don't put in the effort how can you expect anyone else to do!!
Rant over |

This would; A - ensure the standard of marshalling is better B - show the child how to Marshall properly so they can learn. Also anyone seen using their phones while marshalling should have their best time taken away/10 seconds taken off it. Same goes for not being at their Marshall point at the start of the race. Obviously yesterday was a more relaxed day but at club champs ect these should definitely be implemented rather than idle threats. Coz at the moment that's all they are, idle threats. The moment you start taking 10 seconds off or even removing their best time, they won't do it again. #learnthehardway |
Don't remember saying I was a lap ahead all day Gav, I said I missed a 13 lapper by 6 seconds, falling off the tabletop just before the loop knackered that. If I remember I was 12.306 and Donelly 12.323. I had a good race with Alan Reeves in the final early on, he was lapping very quickly to begin with.
Was a good fun club meeting and excellent weather to cap it off...lets just hope we get the weather for Roger next week. Chris |
Oh it's 6 seconds now? You said 1 second the other day...

Final was a total anticlimax for me, got demoted to the back on lap one and couldnt catch top 2 |
Can't remember exactly, hopefully Birdy will post the results at some point. It was round 4 we put our best runs in. Be interesting to see the final results again as the computer messed up.
Chris |
We're still waiting on the last meeting's results, so good luck with that...
|
You do know we have other things to do as well as post up results right Gav?
I sent the championship results but since then the database corruption and reboot means I've got no idea. I'm working on a solution to the arming time issue. I fixed it in the 4wd final. |

So much so someone even had to announce their names over the tannoy to get them on the track, I even marshalled 4 races, and I was not even racing. |

Issues with the BBK database & hosting at present means no results. Plenty of other jobs to be sorted before the weekend. |
poor gav has to win the championship birdy , there is prizes involved now and his compulsive tyre buying habit has almost bankrupted him the 20 prize may be his only way of affording to live
we cant all work in jobs that require us to do long hours at all ends of the country to make our money ya know, results are important for those who actually care about them more than life itself |
Jesus lighten up boys
|
This is a genuine suggestion Gav, why don't you take up the role of maintaining the website/results which will take pressure off Birdy and Si and give you unlimited time to look at numbers with decimal places?
I would be willing to help but as I A. Can't attend anywhere near as regularly as you and B can just about word process I wouldn't be much use really!! As I said I'm not having a go but it would solve your issues Gav. Chris |
Not a bad idea. I'd be willing to learn how
|
Unfortunately with the current plans the results and bmrcc website will be sharing web space on my server with budsballs. Neil has requested the relevant info off me a couple of weeks ago I thought one off my mates had it but it was another pal"matt Coleman " who's got the details Birdy has contacted him but he is away as soon as he his back we will switch the website over
You will not have access to it some trusted member of the club I.e howler/Neil will have Buds |
Or we get a 3G dongle for the club PC and host the results live on the web (I have no idea how this is done BTW, but I've seen people do it) so Gav can follow the results in the pits.
Technology - Keeping Gav sad since 2013.... |
Haha
Fair enough. It would be a good idea to keep people in the know though. Southport's website and results are always up to date, it's not too much to think we can be like them |
Who wants to be like south port any way ? There a good club no doubt.
But we are bury , always been a bit different , reckon we always will be ...... Variety is the spice of life ya know |
Totally agree, bury has to be bury. But it wouldn't ba a bad model to take tips from, southport after all are a national level club and are very organised, that's all I'm saying. Not that we should aim for national level status or anything, just the fact that it's well run. Southport never have as many marshalling problems we do for example. If you're strict with it, people learn fast. If you're too leanient they'll take the mickey.
I'm always willing to help (designing/building tracks, cleaning the track and filling the hose) so I'm not just a know it all bystander, I honestly says things that i think will move the club forwards |

Reading through the post's a constantly shouting on the Mic for marshals at the last meeting, I am thinking of adopting a new rule / good practice.
All marshals MUST wear hiviz jackets, (not sure why we aren't doing this anyhow) marshals to stand on the correct numbers, marshals to wait after the race has finished and only leave once they have been relived by the next heat. This way we can clearly see who is not at their post in time, best round will be taken off for not being at the post in time. Needs to be agreed with the committee first, but cant see it being a issue as we are the ones shouting all day. |
I agree if only to get people into the routine also we could put A big table at the gate to put cars and trannys on while marshalling.
Buds |
That was also suggested last week.
Both will be in place for the Memorial and Regional and club meetings. |

Well the table we were thinking of is currently inside the race control cabin so if its wet it can say there.
Some people already do leave their car on the table and marshal. Some even forget and go home without their car..... |
Or there's that container we were in the other week. That big table fitted in there no problem :-)
|
Or under the table it's not quantum psychics
