Racing next Sunday...2wd Regional...19th May...

Hi all...

So first big BRCA event at WORM next weekend...who's coming along to battle it out for BRCA SW 2wd regional glory?

Track pic from the last meeting (we will be changing the layout for Sunday though)...

http://www.worm-racing.co.uk/wp-cont...h-May-2013.jpg

I messed up my own personal calender and double booked myself :blush: so won't be racing...but will be there at the start to lay the track, book everyone in and get things running. Si Osbourne, Rick Evans, Kev Taylor and Paul Morrisey will be running things as usual though.

A few points to note...booking in will open a little earlier than usual at 8:30am...and closes at 9:30am sharp as we expect numbers to be a little higher than normal.

Racing will start at 10am and run to the clock all day so we get through the 4 rounds and finals in good time to get the long distance racers home in good time!

Only the 2wd class will be entering the regional, 4wd's and trucks will also be running as normal but will just be open racing.

As usual, parking by the rostrum and pits is limited to the club officials and cafe/trackside shop folk only. You can however park up and drop off your kit to the pits before you move your cars out to park on the triangle & grass areas. This ensures we have good safe access to and from the venue at all times throughout the day.

Since we expect numbers to be higher than normal, and volume of (big) cars to also be high as a result, could everyone please note that pitting by your cars on the grass/triangle is not preferred as it uses up valuable parking space! Please make use of the main covered pitting area first...there is plenty of space, and this should also keep things nice and sociable too! :D

For those travelling from farther a field, camping is available trackside on Saturday evening, and anytime for that matter, the landlord has camping onsite at all times anyway....just report to his office round by the Gas shop at the far end during office hours (9-5:30ish).

If you plan to arrive later than that, then PM me...the site is normally locked after office hours, so I can make arrangements for you to get onsite outside of that if your not a club member.

Post if your coming...be good to gauge interest!

I'm in hope the weather is good

ChrissieL 12-05-2013 08:53 PM

Is it just turn up or do you need to book in somewhere?

Nugg 12-05-2013 08:57 PM

I'm going to miss this unfortunately, just rebuilt my diff and fitted a new servo and no races for the next 3 week at least due to other commitments, what a bummer.

blue_pinky 12-05-2013 09:49 PM

Just turn up...no pre booking :)

Excellent, ill be there then :)

Danosborne6661 13-05-2013 08:48 PM

Although this is a 2WD regional so I imagine a lot of people will want to concentrate on one class; will people still be running short course trucks? I still want to run my new truck so was hoping others will too? Also my mate has just bought a truck so he is only looking to come as long as there will be a turn out for them

~lee~ 14-05-2013 11:26 AM

I`ll be coming! :)

tomax108 14-05-2013 04:58 PM

Danosborne6661 15-05-2013 10:56 AM

Great sounds as if we'll havea heat of trucks then :D We had a full heat last time so hopefully we can have that again

ChrissieL 16-05-2013 09:38 AM

Can I use a mrt pt?

Danosborne6661 16-05-2013 09:56 AM

Sure can :)

blue_pinky 16-05-2013 10:08 AM

Just to clarify the transponder situation at WORM.

We are using the older style AMB RC2 decoder, so PT's that work include the MRT, 3 lug AMB, and Harry PT's.

We do not use the RC4 decoder so you cannot use the new Purcy PT's on our system.

Nugg 16-05-2013 09:47 PM

Going off post but please bear with me as I'm fairly new to this but ref the last post is there a transponder I can by that will be suitable for WORM, Yatton and Tiverton, I thought I was going to have to buy an MRT and a AMB but the last post suggests not

Danosborne6661 16-05-2013 10:05 PM

Nope you don't need a seperate one for each club. You can buy any of the ones Andy mentioned; MRT, 3 lug AMB, and Harry PT's. I'm unsure if Tiverton have upgraded their timing gear or not but I know for sure WORM and Yatton you can get away with the ones mentioned above, would recommend the MRT :)

blue_pinky 16-05-2013 10:43 PM

Tiverton are now using the RC4 system, so if you want a PT that works for all clubs, you'll need an old AMB 3 lug, or a Harry.

Purcy won't work at WORM or Yatton, and MRT won't work at Tiverton, so avoid those.

AMB are still selling Harry's I believe, but both Harry and the old 3 lug ones do come up for sale second hand.

Cheers chaps:thumbsup:

I'm interested in racing this weekend, would I be able to race in 2wd as a guest driver.

blue_pinky 18-05-2013 12:05 AM

Why do you need to be a guest racer? Just come along and be a racer with everyone else :)

Everyone is welcome to enter, just get involved!!!

If there's enough non regional runners in 2wd we'll do an open heat, but if not you'll all just run together.

J'MM'N 18-05-2013 09:53 AM

BRCA ruling say you cant score points in more than one region. A guest driver can race in other regions just like everyone else, but as a guest you don't score points in that region. A guest driver doesn't go in a seperate heat, he just races with everyone else and qualifies as normal, but no points for BRCA are awarded to them in that region.

AS an example Andy if you were to race the regionals at Worm, Tiverton and Caldicot, without telling anyone you was a guest at one of those regions, you will be disqualified by the BRCA from all regions for that season.

Hope that makes sense

blue_pinky 18-05-2013 10:41 AM

We know the ruling...it's all good...just hadn't put 2 and 2 together with the 'guest' terminology in your post  You never know who knows what on here lol

We deal with the BRCA part on the day, so no worries there...if your qualifying in another region just let us know when you book in...as that's your responsibility anyway. :)

Main point is, we'll never turn racers away, no matter what's going on...there's always a way to take part.

J'MM'N 18-05-2013 11:54 AM

Thanks Andy

Hopefully see you tomorrow.

Danosborne6661 20-05-2013 10:25 AM

Think you were the only one Dave!

Top meeting, thoroughly enjoyed running both 2WD and the truck. I only managed to finish 2 qualifiers which luckily put me 10th in the A but then I was able to pull through and get the 5th place spot with some top fighting with Martin  Great standard of Driving in the A-final, was good to have wheel to racing on such a bumpy track yet manage to avoid contact. The train of us from 5th place backwards on the last lap was great, couldn't of been any more than 3 seconds between us all in that group. We'll have to get the final results posted up here some how
