where is your local track I may come and have a look

discostu 24-04-2013 10:32 PM

im taking a guess the diffs you will be using are the team c diffs as you claim to run a team c car in the other thread.

have you run these diffs yet what are you doing about the drive shafts.

post some pics up so we can see what you claim you have done.

stu

At least tell us what brand the gear diff is so we can experiment a bit.

blackbird 30-04-2013 04:11 PM

Lol I have spent well over 250 bucks downing this . I will do more testing in the next few weeks and if all goes well I will collect the parts and sell them . If u love your yokomo and don't to switch brands because of the diffs , this is it . pm me for more info

discostu 30-04-2013 07:05 PM

Wow, thanks for being such a great help

branstonpickle 01-05-2013 01:25 PM

looking at the out-drives they just don't seem big enough for the drive-shafts do u need to file them down to fit....

discostu 01-05-2013 02:20 PM

If they are team c the out drives will not fit the yokomo drive shafts with out modification neither will the Durango

Blackbird you are being a knob when you have them sorted put a price on them and sell them.

Stu.

discostu 01-05-2013 02:37 PM

Yeah they are team c the input shaft is also team c so you would need the drive shafts as well

Not cheap to convert.

team c metals gears arnt great either.

blackbird 01-05-2013 03:23 PM

Like i said before , it is not cheap . but it was cheaper than switching brands . So is it worth it ? Just depends how deep your pockets are . I did it because no one else would or could . I will say this they will take a beating of a 4 pole and live , cant say that for the stock diff.

blackbird 09-05-2013 04:00 PM

More testing tomorrow at the track with the gear diffs in the buggy. If all goes well I will sell the complete conversion to make it a gear diff.. .........If any one is intrested in the complete conversion e mail me at [email protected]

blackbird 10-05-2013 10:21 PM

Well day 3 of testing . All I have to say is this is the way Yokomo should had done it in eges . Or gave us a option to use a ball diff or gear diff . 7500 in the front and 5000 in the rear . The car is about .5 seconds faster per lap. It helps that the the diffs are a tad bit heavyer . I had the buggy at work and put it on the scale and it is around 3lb 11 oz. I love it should have done this before .

blackbird 11-05-2013 10:58 PM

The gear diff's are a success! 1st weekend in comption and ended up TQ and won the A main . Lmfao

blackbird 07-06-2013 03:49 PM

I will bulid a gear diff kit for anyone that want one for there yokomo b max 4.
The price will be 220.00 plus shipping. THE KIT WILL INCLUDE
2 gear diffs
2 input shafts for the gear diffs
4 out drives bearings
2 pinion bearings
All the necessary shims
And 4 new half shafts.

Pm me with any questions

blackbird 25-07-2013 09:15 PM

Gear diffs in these cars are bad ass. With that said , I had said a month or so ago that I was working on a aluminum chassis . Well its allmost done . Just need to drill holes and do some tweaken on it . If intrested pm me your email and I will send pic over to u .

blackbird 25-07-2013 09:21 PM

These cars should have came with gear diffs and aluminum chassis. Most of the high end car like Durango the X ray and the b44 now has gear diff and aluminum chassis options.

If my phone would let me post pic I would . If some one on here would post some pic for me I can email them to u and u could post them for me . The chassis is not much heavier 1000x stronger for high grip tracks . If u will post pic for me email me at [email protected] And I will send pic to u . Thanks

Nice gear diff mod Blackbird, all my congrats, but asking for 220 € ... :s

I know somebody ( a person who collaborate with Azarashi for the Green Seal cars ) ...who made the Durango gear diff mod on a B44 ( in 2010 )...he share all possible for the person interesting.

For information : ( when I see that report of 2010...and when I see Associated using that mod today at the warmup in Chico...it lets me thinking )
