Track Work Saturday 13th April
Right Bury Members & Buds, before Round 1 of the championship we need to have a Track day and give it a spring clean.
Work that I think needs doing:-
Put your name down if you can come, thinking a early'ish start time 9:30am!! We will need Brushes to clean the track. Do we need to get a mini skip for the day? Can we sort out a Scrap Metal Man to get rid of the shelving Rob took down last week? Or send me a PM if you can help |
I should be able to make it mate.
Chris |
Track maintanance
I have an M.O.T at 9.30 on saturday. If all goes well I will come down at about 11 am.
|
Yeah we're on
|
Right a few things have been sorted:-
Rob M is sorting the Hover. I've sorted a Mini Skip which will be delivered at 9:30am Johnny is sorting out some paint brushes and rollers. We already have paint in the container. Can we all bring a brush to clean the track please. |
The mrs is working so ill have the kids with me......oh Christ just remembered I'm not a member ill just have to watch you all graft instead:p
|
Should be able to make it but not confirmed as of yet with the mrs....
|
See yo all in the morning.
Skip will be at the track between 9:00am and 9:30am |
My younger brother is at my parents for the weekend, so I'm not able to make it. I'll try to drop by on the way over. I would like the breeze blocks in the race control cabin so don't skip them!
|
I'm not gonna make it till lunch
I've gotta pick up my wage and finish painting some skirts But then were on And it's sexy time for goshen |
track day
Thanks to all who turned up to help with track maintainance. We managed to get a fair bit done. Chris and gavin tidy'd the track up of debris and weeds, Myself,Neil,Rob and Buds cleared the storage container and tidy'd up race control, and myself and johny startred painting the containers and steps but rain finally stopped play. So a big thanks to all who came down. Hope to see a good turn out for tomorrow. Cheers Mark

I'd just like to mention the tremendous effort si made, he made carrying that laptop look effortless! Trojan of a man! :-)
|
Believe me Gav my day was a lot more work. 4 kids (6, 3, 2 and 5 months ) + 2 dogs was pure chaos. Track cleaning would have been better.
Plus it wasn't a laptop it was the cash box. :p |
Yep thanks to all that come and helped today, you know who you are.
Just a shame we didn't get many members turning up. |

We just need to sort some of our own stuff down the back of the cabins and under the steps but that won't be a problem. Decent job in the end. See you all Sunday Darren |
That's fantastic this is now done!! Things are coming together nicely for the club.
Chris |
That looks very neat.
Well done chaps :) |
Is it still soft enought to peg tents and gazebos down?
|
Try it on Sunday!
It's not fully compacted so it should be no problem. |
Oops
|
Yeah as that's quite important.....
|
Why is it important?
|
Loads of grass for tents To pitch on at goshen don't worry gav
I'm really glad we got hard even ground again we needed that for a couple of years now Hope we can keep up the progression at bury its starting to come together bit by bit Awsome |
Tents and gazebos !!! Who do you think you are Lawrence of Arabia ?
Bury members are made of stronger stuff than that no wonder you look all pale and gaunt like gollum on crack!!! http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...psf735becb.jpg |

We should finish painting that rostrum, it'll look much better. But this time the people/person with the paint has to actually turn up when they said they were going to so more people can help out

Any help at the track when it comes to maintainence is hugely welcomed by the club |
Fair point didn't know that, should activate brain before opening mouth sometimes. Sorry guys
|
Cheers buds
And gav you need to work in ya scraping skills before getting upgraded to painting But a point well made The paint was at bury before you were gav But every time we tried to organise a painting party people bottled it and as had been pointed out I paint for a living and don't want to spend my spare time painting goshen on my own or at best with a solo painting partner (cheers mark) To then be criticised for it So with that being said Who can help paint and scrape and other menial boring tasks and when We still need to get goshen looking good |
I was there at 9:30 last time and I'll be there again if you need another hand
|
That's the attitude we need
Many hands an all that Think the cabins May have to wait That's a lot of green paint But the rostron needs finishing and I hope to have stencils end of this week or next |
I'll look into the distances the brca say you should have between each grid marking too
|
No point permanently marking grids?
That means you can only have the straight in one place! |
No it doesn't. You can have it anywhere still but 9 times out of ten we use the full straight
|
I'm pretty sure if we mark them out the officially specified distance then the only place on the track we can fit a full 10 car grid is the main straight.
Now that doesn't mean we always need to use that grid, but we might as well have one painted. |
