"Standard Parcel" is their cheapest fella! :o

jo90 02-04-2013 10:31 AM

Royal Scam mate, not Royal Mail. I have started using Couriers now for larger parcels...for the same price they will collect it from you too ! Have a check to see how much they work out for you. I've used Parcel2go website many times now.

Andyp 02-04-2013 10:33 AM

Have you tried using collect plus ? I have used them a few times, you print the label yourself and drop it off at a local collection point, for me the point is a garage just around the corner so more convinent for me, it will also be tracked and signed for.

Sometime it's not the best option but its worth a look.

believe it or not its now only 50p cheaper and weight is now upto 1kg so big items are cheaper but smaller lighter items are screwed

I feel ya mate!

I am trying to find a 'low' volume courier to set up an account with but I don't think they exist..

If anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears.

thanks for the info - cheaper than myhermes for me, and just as convenient.

kaszal 02-04-2013 11:01 AM

I've been getting quotes from myparceldelivery.com and couriers like Collect+ and Hermes drop off work out cheaper for heavier items 1-2 kg (and I think they're both tracked)

Here's the new RM price list...

Yer sold a load of small ish stuff on ebay last few weeks, I like to post recorded to avoid those lovely people who say it never came or you never posted it

Sold an old LRP charger for 6 quid and a novak smart tray for 99p same chap bought them, so purchase total was 6.99, postage was £7.50 to send the box.I asked 3.50 postage on the listings each and he asked for a postage discount:o.

due to the post office it hardly worth selling some stuff on ebay, as the postage is driving the price up to more than people are prepared to pay for an Item including the postage to get it to them:cry:

Yeah that's right, you just drop it off at your local point and they will give a receipt, as you say you can also get stuff delivered to there also my G/F gets clothes delivered there to save her waiting in all day.

Usually you will find your local corner shop does it but they is a location finder on there site I think.

As others have said parcels to go ect are good and you usuall get cheaper/good rates on ups ect but you usuall have to wait in for them.

I always use Parcel2go and I have always received an excellent service. I can drop the parcel off at designated news agent.

I used this when a buyer actually requested me to use it, worked totally fine and local corner shop open until 8pm so miles better than post office.

bigred5765 02-04-2013 04:23 PM

sounds good thanks dan :)

Steveonamission 02-04-2013 05:39 PM

Must admit that is a tad steep if your just sending out 1 shell!

I sent a box of 8 today, £10 for special delivery, so thought that was a bargain considering.

bigred5765 02-04-2013 05:54 PM

the more u send the cheaper it seems,
one shell is 6.96 special delivery or 6,49 recorded but that covers you up to 1kg so loads of shells, but cack if its just one or two

mrspeedy 02-04-2013 06:14 PM

Not sure I have this right ... but looks like you can send small packets (under 250g) via Standard Int to Europe for £3.50... yet domestic for the same packet is £5.20 :wtf: ... wonder if they'll let us use Standard Int for UK deliveries ....

terry.sc 02-04-2013 06:48 PM

Standard International hasn't had the same price hikes, we now have the situation where it can be cheaper to send a parcel to Australia as it is to send it to someone in the UK.:o

desperatedan 04-04-2013 03:24 PM

I run a small business on Ebay selling refurbished RC cars and ever since we smelt a whiff of price hikes with Royal Mail we turned our attention to other couriers like Parcel2Go.com. - http://link2.fm/5P1ZCV

Looks like Maggie's lot are ready to sell it off :-(

mrspeedy 05-04-2013 04:23 PM

Looks like we're going to have to look into an altenative llke this .... just been to the PO .. parcel under 250gms going to New South Wales = £4.70 ... parcel going to South Wales = £5.20 !!!!!

Rory.c.h 07-04-2013 05:22 AM

i sent whole nitro buggy and bits an bobs for £5,50 with parcel+ and it arrived in scotland in less than 24 hours and it so easy
