lol, comming from the Losi you should have known :) Specially as I did the same the week before with it.

Anyway, running off road again. Losi, Losi, Losi!!! After my first drive with the Losi handlign decently (unlike the week before) I can't believe I subjected myself to the Traxxas for so long! Loving the Losi so much :D

My only Losi worry now is to try and figure out why the diff spits out so much oil :-/ The after market sealed diff in the other ill handling, ancient, green buggy thing never leaked a drop... Perhaps I just need to get used to topping it up occasionally.

The Doctor 11-03-2013 04:39 PM

Spitting out oil? Is it an oil-filled diff? If it's lubed with silicone grease then it shouldn't be spitting it out - unless you've put too much in there of course...:(

Did you smear some thick grease around the o-rings? - could help make a better seal with the outdrives

A pepper mill with a brushless motor and 20-year-old Tamiya gears :p. Might be time to fit my spare set:thumbsup:

leedolby77 11-03-2013 08:55 PM

GT12 please

PMSL:lol:

Chris56 11-03-2013 10:00 PM

haha, in true Team Shambles fasion, the mill sound was caused by a dry diff. i didn't even know it had a ball diff:lol::lol:

Dave Dodd 12-03-2013 10:10 AM

pepper mill.. :lol::lol:
.................

what type of track layout would everyone like this week?

no ovals or figure 8's sorry..

The Doctor 12-03-2013 03:17 PM

A replica of Spa please. Would like to try guiding the F1 through a 1/10 scale Eau Rouge. Could be tricky getting the right gradient though. :)

Chris56 12-03-2013 04:17 PM

How about Suzuka?
oh, no, Dave said no figures of 8 :p

The Doctor 12-03-2013 07:55 PM

Santa Pod should be easy to do & suit you Chris - no corners to catch you out! Then again, you even managed to snap the FF03 up the straight I seem to recall... :p

msmith105e 12-03-2013 08:17 PM

mini again please :)

Santa Pod? Nooooooooo! Corners are great, the Shamcar can do them. its the feckin straight where it struggles to stay in a straight line and not crash!

The snapped gearbox on the straight was unfortunate, totally my fault as i forgot to check that the person who built it didn't build the rear end with toe-out:woot:

The Doctor 12-03-2013 10:24 PM

OMG, the Citreon 4C Rod Bull Wrold Rylla Cra has been handed down the Shambles family tree...! :( I hope the Litttlest Hobo H2 Pro is being built with a similar lack of attention to the correct location of important parts.

sorry Paul, i've obviously spent too much time talking to you as the littlest Hobo may have been build with a touch of OCD :p
(with the negligable exception of me not putting thread lock on the front wheel screws). I've measured the camber, set the toe, glued the tyres, carefully meshed the pinion, ran it unloaded for 30 mins and polished my tools afterwards!

I've even painted the shell in the same colour scheme as the truck, only to find that the orange paint used was a slightly different shade  how am I going to cope?:p

This seems to be a common problem with your cars... Better check the Hobo to.

Chris56 13-03-2013 01:08 PM

Only Tamiya cars - the Hobo and the Losi both had the toe angle clearly labelled and were therefore idiot-proof.
The Tamiya's on the other hand just have an "L" on one of the rear hub carriers and an "R" on the other - what is that supposed to mean????

ste_lazzaro 13-03-2013 01:34 PM

Hi Dave!
Please book me in for off road!
Thx!:)

The Doctor 13-03-2013 02:05 PM

Didn't Jimney Cricket have "L" and "R" on his wellies? Problem is that he always had them on the wrong feet as I recall.

Not on my first couple of drives, but now I've done a bit more than that, changed the o-rings for softer ones like the ones I use in the Bandit's diff (the original Losi ones are really hard, I don't know if from age or they are just like that), used Associated green slime instead of grease on the o-rings, sealed the case with black silicone, and also sealed the screw heads with thread seal tape (a lil thing I learned long ago with after-market Traxxas compatible diffs).

If it still leaks... I'll just give up!

Dave Dodd 14-03-2013 03:48 PM

All of the above drivers are or will be booked, cheers  despite the subject wondering off a little

Chris56 14-03-2013 05:31 PM

Not sure if i've already said this, but please can you book me in for tomorrow Dave, racing Shamcar please:p:p

StevenBest 14-03-2013 06:04 PM

Hi,

We will be visting next week and I was wondering. It say's on your website we need to cover our shock towers (im guessing front). Do you sell covers track side?

Thanks Steven:thumbsup:

Chris56 14-03-2013 06:08 PM

Hi, I believe Wes J+ has some for sale and he races most weeks.

Gaffa tape will also suffice.
