have they got rid of the silly bricked section to the right of the table top?

ALso any more new bits that i wouldnt have seen in the last couple of months?

Lee 03-07-2008 10:23 AM

Danny,

I have just noticed you have TS design in your signature, when you give tel a body do you just ask for a white one  :woot:

I think the rumble bricks have gone now, we didnt use that corner last time or most of the back section though.

Although i can understand the club not using that corner as it is prone to cutting up and its only a month to the national :)

Kopite 03-07-2008 10:31 AM

which part do you mean when you say the rumble bricks?

Lee 03-07-2008 10:45 AM

After the table top in the middle you could go along another 15 ft or so and turn left and head on upto the cobbles, there was some bricks put in the grass to stop it breaking up but they were a bit random at times.

bigred5765 03-07-2008 10:49 AM

and eat tyres for fun, there long gone now.

Kopite 03-07-2008 10:59 AM

never knew there were bricks there :o

any concrete/brick/tarmac related track surfacing is gay and unnecessary

Batley will be running:D

Lee Martin 03-07-2008 11:32 AM

i like some brick sections...the 8th one at euros was awesome.... my track also has tarmac on it and i like that.....super grippy in summer...

Kopite 03-07-2008 11:46 AM

it's not the racing on it i don't like mate, it's just the tyre ripping that depresses me :(

as far as i can remember, last time you were at southport Graham, nearly all of the new features were being used, you must remember because you complained about most of them.

For the record;
The brick section has gone
The "rumble strips" are still there
The doubles have been re-profiled and are still there
The step-up jump has been re-profiled and will remain
The "gay" concrete corner is still there, after 15 years
The "gay" tarmac corner is still there pending re-surfacing and re-designing

I don't understand what the complaints are for.
People asked for jumps and "big-air" at Southport - we made the jumps.
People asked for more challenging features at Southport - we incorporated some

We race on an off-road, multi surface track - there are only two smooth sections at Southport, the concrete corner and the straight. The rest is probably either too bumpy or not bumpy enough for the rest of you.

In recent weeks, we haven't used all of the features, because we are "resting" the grass section for the national. That decision has not been to upset the "outsiders" that is a decision the affects the club racers too. It was a decision made to try and give the grass time re-grow and hold up better for the national.

Northy 14-07-2008 07:00 PM

Chris, no complaints from me, you have read it wrong. I didn't come to the last NW regional due to the new baby, but the lads told me that not many of the features were used.

** this bit cut out and sent via pm **

If I have read it wrong, then that was not my intention

Chris
