PaulRotheram 24-09-2006 08:58 PM

Bj4 i'd think.

jimmy 24-09-2006 10:36 PM

Due to being a rubbish mechanic I only ran the X-6 in the final in 2wd - why ? because I wired it up and it didnt work and I was just too pressed for time to get it working :(

Ran it in the final after some practice on the field.. IF I had driven it before properly I think I would definately have been quicker with it.. I ended up driving it like my b4- which makes you realise just how different this car is. I was really throwing it into the corners to get it to turn, which you just didnt need to do - the result was getting hung up on the same pipes about 4 times, really frustrating since the car would turn much much better than the B4.
The best bit was powering out of the corners, I could drift the car around without the back end being uncontrolable, I think the car just needs a different technique going into the corners.
So, sorry to Dan for not using his car more, but many thanks for the opportunity and I'll look forward to building mine up asap to see how it goes.

4WD was great, started off with a 6th in round 1 and backed it up at the last minute with a 6th in round 4, definatly the best result Ive ever had to get 8th on the grid. My A finals were a bit poor though, last in leg 1 because of old tyres. last in leg 2 after breaking it (I was in 3rd at one point). 9th in leg 3 after dumping whilst in 3rd. very happy with that still.

PaulRotheram 24-09-2006 10:38 PM

Congrats Jimmeh, you did well for your self dude.

Southwell 25-09-2006 09:56 AM

Surely it's not a write off?

losixxx 25-09-2006 10:00 AM

yep, were the caravan twisted round its moved the rear off-side wheel about 3 inches and theres a nice twist in the rear of the chassis from were the towbar moved. both main rear pillars are all creased and it drivers like a dodgey tesco's trolley :D

Southwell 25-09-2006 10:02 AM

Bloody hell  Well if you strip some bits off it let me know  Hope you slapped the woman with ur xx4

DCM 25-09-2006 10:29 AM

being an 05 reg, will your insurance company replace it with a new car or fleece you over.

losixxx 25-09-2006 10:51 AM

company car, its being picked up in about an hour and will have a new one by 1.30 so sorted that end just the caravan insurance to sort now:(

DCM 25-09-2006 10:58 AM

jim76 25-09-2006 11:14 AM

losixxx 25-09-2006 11:44 AM

DCM 25-09-2006 12:16 PM

Ah well, not to worry, glad the car went well though. Did it stay dry (my car)???

Actually can I get it off you sometime soon. I've not seen it for a month now and have some things I want to try before I run it next.

I saw someone else ran an X6 at the F3's. Who was it and how did they do?

jimmy 25-09-2006 08:06 PM

There were a few mate! Thumbs was there and i think might have been helping the X6 boys out. He was raving about them.

I was doing same lap times as my B4 - but I know it was quicker, I was just making mistakes on every lap turning in too early. There was definately enough drive there and the steering and cornering were great. Stayed dry no worries..

I should be going to the consortium meeting on wednesday, not goin are you ?
Where abouts do ya live ?

Stu 25-09-2006 08:07 PM

X6

Paul Knight, not sureb who it is, Welsh lad I assume. Car looked good, looked very positive to drive. If it were me I'd have been running more worn tyres on it (but then I ain't got anything else).
