National venues for 2013....

For people who attended this year, and those that are hoping to attend next year. What tracks would you like to see on the calendar ???

Assuming the venue's apply!!!!

chuckie stella 18-10-2012 10:43 PM

Stotfold, preferably not first round!

jaysllim 18-10-2012 11:31 PM

Cobra in wales,or swansea.or any welsh club lol

paulc 19-10-2012 05:58 AM

It would be nice to see some differant clubs getting a national round next year i know Silverstone had a round this year and Southport never but next year Southport will probably be back on the national calender and another club will lose out for a year. I'd like to see 2 or 3 differant clubs that have'nt had a national before getting a round for next years national series theres enough good clubs around the uk to get 2 or 3 differant clubs on the national calender is'nt there ? Out of intrest how many clubs usually apply for a national each year ?

This is just my opinion and were ever they are i think it will be another cracking series :)

Why anyone wouldnt want RHR as a national venue is beyond me :wtf:

James 19-10-2012 11:55 AM

So many people tell me how much they love racing on clay so what do you think to RHR dirt if the weather is good leading up to the event or RHR astro if its potentially damp (actually the Dirty Weekend was slightly damp and the track was better i thought!) Dirt tyres on sale or return and/or if we hold a dirt meeting - proline challenge or oOple race shortly after a potential national to allow tyres to be sold on/reused etc..

Interesting so far, keep them coming as i want an idea of what the drivers preferences are....

Keep them honest though, we can't have them all up north or darn south so....

To throw a few tracks in the mix that may apply, or look good enough to apply...

Torch
Boughton Raceway (Anglia way)
Holbeach (Eastrax)
Broxtowe (Like the F2's i guess)

Evo_Snr 20-10-2012 11:49 AM

As this is a NATIONAL series it should be split into the whole of the uk.
So there should be 2 in Scotland / 2 in Northern Ireland / and 2 in England And don't forget Wales :p:p:p

Scotty 20-10-2012 12:20 PM

National criteria??

Does anyone know if there is a criteria for holding a buggy national...? I know there used to be for TC

Such as;

Car park big enough for x amount of cars

Track big enough throughout

Overnight accommodation available

Food van a must. Etc etc

If there is that might rule a few clubs out

spenner 20-10-2012 08:39 PM

Some things to look at....

Track needs to be minimum of 3mtrs in width all the way round, lap time of around 23 sec min (for the top boys) anything under 21 sec is a no. Jumps etc should not obscure any parts of track.

Pitting area needs to be a min 1 acre, this is tight so no smaller really. Camping is nice, but is not a rule.
Race control - provide somewhere for the BRCA to run the meeting.
Rostrum that can see all parts of the track.
Members...... without these you will struggle to run a meeting of this size.
Toilets
Food and drink..

If you email Paul Worsley he does have a sheet of what is required to hold a national.

Freakypen 20-10-2012 08:54 PM

I'm sure RHR Dirt is a brill venue.
The only hang up I would have about it is that unless you live within a couple of hrs of it you prob won't want to travel 4+ hrs like I'd have to to get any practice on clay.
Gives a BIG advantage to those that can get there- as its the only dirt venue for 1/10 I know of.
At least on the astro track- we all can have a reasonable starting point as we all race on astro all year round.
Just thinking out loud ;)

Juttie 20-10-2012 09:31 PM

Another one here for boughton

I might be wrong, but thought that it's a minimum track length rather than minimum lap time? Around 140m around the racing line I believe? Although that number could very likely be wrong!

spenner 21-10-2012 03:18 PM

There is a minimum track length, but no good having 18sec laps when start is 2 sec between... First car will be past car 10 before he even starts.

blue_pinky 21-10-2012 03:22 PM

hahaha...very good point! :)
