Any news regarding the SX??
Hi there...
The Schumacher section seems to be dead for a while... Matt and Mossy can you please give some news regarding the SX developpment...are you still running some mods (not shot by Jimmy yet) or everything s fixed now? Some info regarding the production schedule...(if you have any) Thanks a lot Jean-Christophe |
My car is as shot by Jimmy at our last national - because that was my car! (the NiMh one not LiPo).
Unfortunately, i don't have any confirmed timing, so i'm afraid i can't be of any help to you there. |
so do i take it that theres no news then Matt, no info at all, no changes, etc anything not even a sniff, awww come on there must be something,
|
Any news on a 2wd ?
|
really hungry to know when will the Cat SX be available in the market.......
|
yes an idea of how much longer would be great !
I don't want to rebuild my 3000 unless I really have to ! |
I heard september, im not sure how accurate that is but i know that the B team drivers still dont know when they are getting their cars :)
|
I heard end of May, then end of June, then end of July.....
I've cancelled my order now, as the reionals will be over before it comes out  |

Lipo
|
|
is it just me or are the spares a tad pricey on there? the shock towers especially, i thought they would be cheaper as they seem use far less carbon than on other cars.
|
Was thinking that myself. Got my name down for a CAT SX.
Hope they're strong......... |
They're 4mm thick and should be able to cope with some abuse.
|
I still don't see a release date, although on the Schumacher forum they say July, so should be really soon !
|
Has anyone seen the Lipo version? Its such a different layout it'll be interesting to see how it goes. The nimh looks very good on track!
Also, anyone know if saddle pack lipo&s will fit in the lipo version? |
I hope so - I've got saddle pack Trakpower 4800's to squeeze in when I get my SX. They're not that much longer than the stick surely? I managed to fit them in a Durga with no problem.

I would be glad if you could post some pics on how you fit and secure this pack in you Durga, including connections. On my side I have a bit of difficulties with the connectors that do not allow putting the body properly in place (problem with the height of the pack). Thanks |
Sent you a PM - Can you not solder the 4mm plug at 90 degrees to the wire, so the wire lays flat on the pack? Or use 2 battery bars with a 4mm plug at one end to go into the pack, and the ESC wire soldered at the other end - just to take the wire away from going directly into the pack at an angle that is preventing you from mounting the shell.
|
Thanks for your feedback and PM. Started the soldering work with wires at 90 degree with corally connectors. Finished 2 small extensions that allow me to use the carbon plate and aluminium screws coming from a TA05.
It should work! |
Looking more closely at the pictures of the SX, I can't see my 4800mAh Lipo's fitting under the belt, so it looks like I'll have to get a new Lipo pack as well.
Can anyone from Schumacher confirm that only the slim Lipo's will fit? |
This may have been mentioned already but I have just got back from the model shop and bumped in to Dave Foster Schumacher Rep, he confirms that the car should be here end July/Early August.
|
Hog I'm pretty sure that the photos with lipo in situ show the Core 5000 pack - and it's a full-height hard-cased pack.

Here are the specs of the CORE 5000 pack,
Core RC - 5000mAHr 7.4v LiPo - Fantastic power and only 250 grams weight (NiMh = 400 gms) Must be charged with a LiPo charger. Size 137.5 x 46.5 x 23.5mm. Moulded case for maximum protection in use.:) |
Ah - looks like it means I'll be selling my saddle LiPo's then as mine are 30mm deep. :(
|
wouldnt do that too soon, you may be able to raise the straps to get over the problem, however im not sure.. i'd still wait!
|
Nah I'll wait and see once the kits are out - but judging by the pics on the Schumacher site, the main belt runs over the top of the pack (or the 4 cells on the NiMh version), so I doubt there is enough clearance for an extra 7mm or so.
Plus it also looks like the battery strap pivots at the front, which again means there is no way of adjustment if it's been designed around a standard height pack. Hey ho - not a problem :D |
