30th September! S/C final national

So then.. in the event of heavy rain what would be the plan?

Hpi_guy 24-09-2012 06:55 PM

i think the plan will be to sweep the track and take it from there

Frecklychimp 24-09-2012 06:57 PM

You better start sweeping now... It's Only fit for boats!

Hpi_guy 24-09-2012 07:00 PM

or aquaplaning short courses, there boats anyway, or turn them upside down

johnni boi 24-09-2012 07:48 PM

Could we have it at broxtowe instead? :D

Hpi_guy 24-09-2012 07:55 PM

hmm, might be a bit short notice unless it was announced tonight, what did you need my number for brooky?

johnni boi 24-09-2012 08:09 PM

arrange what time you want to pick the car up off me

Hpi_guy 24-09-2012 08:11 PM

ah, are you going down tomorrow evening?

johnni boi 24-09-2012 08:12 PM

Here you go... This is no attack on A1 Racing Club, but bearing in mind this is a National series and racers invest a lot of money travelling to support these meetings and the championship.... it's over an hour each way 110 mile round trip for me and i'm fairly local!

this was situation at 6pm tonight... see what it looks like tomorrow in comparison.

pretty gutted my trip over today for some set-up time was wasted... i love racing in wet but 2 inches of standing water is a big no obviously.

If a decision is left till last minute.com then we lose another round and a dreadful end to series... there are a fair few drivers eager to give shiny new trucks some action and still final positions to battle for!

being sensible +1 on Broxtowe if it's possible with club organisers... new rostrum means a different challenge to their round of the 2012 series.

jimmy noke 25-09-2012 04:23 AM

Broxtowe

I agree with you mark the new rostrum and Broxtowe makes it completely different. And also it would be a sad end the the series not to race...

aaron1974 25-09-2012 06:59 AM

last round

On a personal note, I need to do the last round to have enough scores to count, what would happen if it's not run, does it become 3 from 5 instead of 4 from 6 ?

HarlowS 25-09-2012 08:31 AM

or move it to a different week and i may be able to come then :)

johnb 25-09-2012 09:36 AM

For me personally I'm hoping the track can be swept and the water cleared so the meeting can go ahead as have a two hour drive to get there plus a hotel room booked that if I cancel now I have to pay for. So hopefully all going ahead or moving the meeting to Broxtowe.

aaron1974 25-09-2012 09:40 AM

Don't get me wrong, I definitely want the meeting to go ahead if the track is raceable... Even better if it does get switched to broxtowe though as it'll save me an hours drive ! :D

HarlowS 25-09-2012 09:46 AM

Or just buy some bigger tyres !!

shark 25-09-2012 12:07 PM

Plan ! !

Checa 25-09-2012 01:25 PM

Or use the indoor track

Frecklychimp 25-09-2012 01:29 PM

Indoor track?

spyro 25-09-2012 02:24 PM

I will update on the conditions after club racing tonight.

Dry overnight and no rain today

ironmangav 25-09-2012 02:26 PM

Dont mind either,indoor,outdoor,broxtowe,A1 as long as we get to race.
Take it Broxtowe has better drainage than A1 hence as an alternative track?

Broxtowe's drainage is brilliant... Doesn't flood under the heaviest of rain !

We did / do...

Stil uncertanty from the landlord if we can have the venue this winter.

ianholt 25-09-2012 08:46 PM

A1 racing club track is perfectly useable now. We have raced this evening and had no issues, it always looks bad when it has had a sudden down pour but only takes 24hrs or so to be useable.
Yesterday was a very wet day and at the time mark took the pictures there was alot of standing water but all ok now. Posting photo's almost a week before the event on the day we get a months rain in one day does not realy offer a true representation of what it is going to be like on the day!
Weather forcast is looking dry from tomorrow evening onwards http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/...t_weather.html
so there is no reason to worry.

spyro 26-09-2012 08:16 AM

What a difference a day makes, by the end of the night the water on the infield had drained as well.

A.R.C Raceway 29-09-2012 05:57 AM

Lets use the 8th track.....PLEASE
Looks much better for the trucks.......:D:D:D:D:D

quincey 29-09-2012 07:36 AM
