Bet they were more than a little surprised when I pulled into the car park!

Ah ha, Tresspassers! Guilty as charged Your Honour!

All drivers please note Eden Park Raceway should only be used by prior agreement and in return for the published fees or following workpartys at the weekends! Or by members.

We can not have drivers using the track without our prior knowledge just in case our landlords question unscheduled attendances! Just ask yourself this - Would you want to be the one to jeopardise our future at this venue?

Please, please, please at least have the common courtesy to let one of the Committee know that you would like to use the track.
Thank you.

Maybe you should tell your landlords that people might just appear out of the blue and use the track or put some signs up so people know not to use the track.

Ash - the track may be on private land but this doesnt stop people from wandering on to the sports club site and using the track.

It is clearly not a BMX track and yet there is regular evidence of tyre marks round there. There is a fence but you can climb over it. Yes we do get young children with 'toy-spec' RC cars using it which we are not adverse to. We have seen them walk onto the grounds with their mum and dad and have let them have a go whilst we are working on the track - after all, we want and need new blood.

There has been a sign up on our info board up until recently when we had to take it down so a new fence could be installed. A new larger info board will be going up this weekend with contact details as planned but we have just struggled to get everything done as quickly as we would have liked.
I am sure that you are aware that a sign is only a deterrent and that in some cases, it has no effect.

At present, we have a good relationship with the landlords but we are charged additionally on top of our rent for usage and naturally we are aware that too much extra activity on the track could cause repercussions for us in the future.

Anyway, enough has been said about this already.

I understand your situation Matt it is important to keep a good friendship with the lanlord. We have to keep our landlords happy at Oz.

I have been to EPR for 2 practise session this year (Steve and Matt you know about me as I've emailed you). Everytime I have been there I had a chat with the lady behind the bar or anyone else that was available and at best there has been total confusion about the who is allowed and who is not allowed and who I need to give money to etc. Both times no one wanted to accept anything from me and to be honest I wasn't sure that if I left my money behind the counter that it would ever reach the EPR fund! :eh?:

There is clearly an issue with people not being informed as I have experienced myself. You'll do well by adding a big sign (not an A4 page as seen before) with the rules, costs AND contact details about using the track.

Is there currently a membership scheme for 2008? I remember last year it was £130? Does that compare well to other 10th club's yearly membership fees (out of interest)? My micro indoor club (High Wycombe) wich is a permannent venue charges £22/year/family and £5 per race day for comparison.

The landloards must have an understanding that you guys cannot be held responsible for other people's actions. It's unreasonable for them to complain to you about something that is out of your control. If they are after money then why not simply inform the people behind the bar to take money from people who wants to practise whoever they are?

It's a great venue and it's near me and it would be great if there was a slightly more open attitude to use of the facility from the landlords. :)

TBH everyone, team xtreme understand that they were wrong, and have apologised and will remember to ask in the future. There is no need to carry on like this.

If a couple of people went down to Eden Park raceway and took a couple of photos, put them in a thread here, then they would probably get a quiet PM and maybe a thread like this saying they were in the wrong and that in future Eden Park would like to be told before anyone uses their track, but I don't think these people would be named, and I am pretty much certain that people wouldn't go on like this, "tut tut tut" and saying things that have been said in the other thread.

Yeah a lot of people are up for a laugh, but tbh naming and shaming an RC company, and going on at them for something they have apologised for is not funny to me.

what post.... was it risky??? haha

Be fair though, it may be a 'permanent' track, but it isn't a 'public' track.

My local track got a good deterrent, it is in the corner of a carpark, which you got to pay to enter during the week lol

Lee 21-05-2008 04:06 PM

Definately G, if he didnt create oOple, nobody would run preds and they would never have gone to EPR to cause havoc:thumbdown:

Jimmy is bad:lol:

I am going to call time on this before it gets out of hand - again!

I can understand everyone has an opinion and that this is a place where they can voice it. It is a shame that we don't get as much enthusiasm on a cold Saturday morning in February when there is weeding to be done!

Thread closed - now everyone can breathe a sigh of relief!
