There cool mark:thumbsup: they would look fantastic in the S500;)
|
Mine have just arrived :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Did you just cut the connectors off the link wire and solder a male corrally connector on at 90 degrees? Did you also keep the smaller connector on which is attached to one end of one of the link wires, as my trakpower balancer appears to need to connect into this? Do you have the address for Fibrelyte |
Mine also arrived, will be testing them next Sunday with an Orion 6,5T (TRF501X). I'm having some lead plates made also to fit under the packs for lower CG. Only problem is fitting them properly into the battery slots.
|
nope i got two corally plugs and a flightpower 2mm tube connector and made my own (trakpower are loking at making the lead like i have)

Mate, they look sweet.
And they're available now? How much? |
Tel, I got mine from MK Racing, with the trakpower 550LI charger and v-balancer for 115 quid.
Mark, do you think it would be ok to make up a link wire using motor wire and corrally's so I can fit in the car, but swap to the trakpower link wire for charging? I am assuming the type and thickness of wire shouldn't make to much difference as long as it is of decent guage or do you think I would need to use the same 3.98mm. Cheers Ryan |
Do they fit in a xx4?

I *think* they will Ash with slight modification of the battery straps. I'll be able to let you know for sure on Monday/Tuesday.

plus shipping plus tax if your caught, makes em cheaper in the uk at £45

You don't get caught in HK, seriously, some of my orders had the size of two boxes of car kits next to eachother, but I never had any problems with customs. Buying in the US is indeed more dangerous.
(I'm not talking about transmitters etc., which are always held by customs, also when they come from HK). |

with regards to fitting them on a d4, would glueing a spare set of the plastic battery trays to the bottom work, you would then retain forwards/rear battery placement options?

I've just put mine in my BJ4WE and they just squeeze in, in between the battery holder posts.
And if i leave the plastic battery tray in, they just fit in under the battery strap too. They are so snug i don't think i will need anything else to hold them in place. |
Im seriously thinking about gettign one of these as there so cheap and handy. But im wondering what is the balencing process etc? will my orion advantage carbon edition (aka lipo one) be ok to charge it?

In case the case LiPos (pun intended...) fit the Serpent, the decision for my buggy of choice next year will be a hard one, unless it screws up the weight distribution... |

It's always a good idea to use a balancer, Trakpower sell there own for around £25. Just plug your charger into it, and the balancer into your Lipo pack. |
I assume these are 2 1s1p lipo's that you configure in series externally (instead of a 2s1p lipo that are in series internally)?
If that is the case, would you still need a balancer if you charged them seperately to 3.7v rather than in series to 7.4v? Obviously it would take twice as long to charge, but would you end up with the same outcome? Since Lipo don't seem to need balancing as often as NiMH need equalising, would it be possible to balance at home using this medthod, before racing, and not bother during a meet? |
Has anybody got some measurments of the lipo?
ben |
yup, see the lipo thread there is a lot there:)

Thanks :)

the 3200 has two cells in each bank wired in paralell ther then joined in serries by the link wire, the 4800 has 3 cells per bank (bank being one square block) you could but then they wont be balanced, they will just both be charged up balancing makes both cells the same charging seperatly does not as it can not know what level the other pack is at Quote:

Got it this morning really like it top quality. The only thing im not keen on is the joining wire im going to need to make my own anyway so thats not a problem. Ive fitted it in my cr and it fits perfectly if i run my battery strap upside down i have enough room to run a sheet of lead under the packs to increase the weight.
Here are some piccys http://www.oople.com/forums/picture....&pictureid=166 http://www.oople.com/forums/picture....&pictureid=167 God that gold bling looks so good. A |
I really want to run it now but ive got to ajust my wiring in my xx4 so that it fits and ive gotta solder my speddo into my cr but i havent got my iron so ill have to wait.
