Hi Lads,

Same here, I got 2 emails about the venue but no email about the WRI?

From what I see from Google Maps it looks fine. I can't make the meeting today.

Please post up details or email them out to members, cost etc.

All the best

Kevin

I got the email about Winter Race Ireland.
Shame guys, but understandable. Really sorry this wont go ahead though.

Can I advise to make a big announcment about this on oOple.
This Ireland thread is not enough.
Alot of UK racers were looking information on Winter Race Ireland when I was at oOple race and the sooner that is got to them, the better the Irish reputation for quality & professionalism remains.

Cheers for the efforts, lets hope something can be got for 2013. :)

celticpanman 21-08-2012 08:37 AM

The DMCC did not want it put up on here UNTIL We HAD A VENUE

It was put up by someone without the approval or knowledge of the committee

It was to AVOID exactly this happening making it look badly organised on our behalf

Cardnim 21-08-2012 08:43 AM

Really? But the official "sticky" thread on here was started by someone called "Winter Race Ireland" and signed by the DMCC committee?!
Seems official to me.
Not muck raking, just trying to clear up the confusion. :/

Meath77 21-08-2012 08:44 AM

Pity it's not going ahead, but it's not easy to get a suitable indoor venue.

Meangombine, you need to be more subtle in your trolling and at least pretend you have a clue what you're talking about in order for it to work. Otherwise you just look like an idiot. Must try harder. h0m3sy is doing a much better effort

Meangombine 21-08-2012 09:15 AM

I have nothing constructive to say, so will remain quiet.

Work has started

Hi Lads,

The DMCC have a new winter venue. Here's some short clips & pics of the initial setup work.

As a side note the driver of the tractor who delivered the astro turf estimated we had about 8 tons of stuff:woot:

Thanks to everyone who turned up last night.

I was amazed at how much was done in the short space of time.

The astro is down, images attached. Just needs a good hover and a brush off and it will be ready for track laying.

MiCk B. :-)

Cardnim 12-09-2012 09:04 PM

Looking promising guys, well done!
Cant wait to get a run round it :)

The Doktor 12-09-2012 11:04 PM

It looks great, its only when you are there you realise how big it is, and I think with the way the astro is layed the track will easily be as good if not better than the previous indoor track.

Meath77 12-09-2012 11:10 PM

Couldn't make it down yesterday to help, had other stuff to do. Can do next monday.
Place looks great though!

celticpanman 13-09-2012 07:15 PM

hi all we are hoping to organise next monday 17th as the next work day on the track

there is a small amount of astro to be moved then assemble the rostrum and build the barriers

after that the jumps

we need to move the white pipe from lucan after round 4 rccaoi this sunday

see you then

Meath77 13-09-2012 09:54 PM

What time do you need bodies on Monday?

Eiremaxx 17-09-2012 11:49 PM

Hi guys it's been a while I hope to get back into action soon were is the new indoor venue? Cheers Eoin

Meath77 18-09-2012 10:00 AM

It's about 1km from Naul village. Place looks great, was up there yesterday and it's really taking shape. It'll easily be as good as the last place, probably better!
The track area is slightly narrower, but a good bit longer. Still work to be done, but the hard stuff is over, all the astroturf is in place.
Fair play to Graham for getting the place! Nice timing too, just as it's getting cold!

The Doktor 18-09-2012 03:32 PM

Place is really looking great. Well laid out and no space wasted.
Fair play to all the lads who have set it up so far.
Cant wait for racing to start there!

looking good lads

Fair play to the lads(you know who you are) who put in a momentous effort today laying out and cleaning the track + sorting out the pit area.

Graham's design for all the jumps worked out great, he pre-made a giant jigsaw puzzle and it all went together perfectly.

All the jumps are modular and we can change the jump configuration very quickly, very clever :D

I had a very quick spin around the track, its quite tricky and technical and good fun :D

Sorry no pics I was too knackard at the end of a long day

Fair play to all the lads for the fantastic work put in yesterday and over the last few weeks. Place really looks great. Took a couple of pics from the rostrum to give you an idea of how it looks.

Rayzerp 23-09-2012 08:27 PM

celticpanman 23-09-2012 08:34 PM
