Is your real car...

Is your real car as bling as your RC?

Just wondering? :p

Spoolio 14-05-2008 05:38 PM

1995 Mini 35 (bling alloys)
1995 Audi A6 Avant (is moss in the gutters classed as bling?)
2001 Peugeot 306 Estate - hardly

Nice 18 inch Speedline 3 piece rims :)

sparrow.2 14-05-2008 07:37 PM

90 VW Golf II

Leaks more oil than a shock with no O-rings, battery self-discharges worse than NiMhs

But I love it dearly because it has the cumulated dust of the last races all over it and I've changed more engines and gearboxes on it than on my model cars :wub

DaveG28 14-05-2008 08:10 PM

350Z, so I think more bling than my RC!

Always get the p**s taken out of me by one of my mates though, he's spent a year happily driving round in a scirocco that cost less than my RC!!

It's almost sexual! I still think the 993 is the nicest of all 911's... Do I spot a bit of Carbon on the front splitter?

delanobe 15-05-2008 08:59 AM

Rich knows about Porsche's i see :)

And yes, the front splitter has some carbon bits.

Oh yes indeed !

Had a Lotus myself a couple of years ago, always wanted a Porsche. Currently would kill for a white 997 GT3 or ultimately the new 997 GT2

You have good taste

The only Porsche I would sell this one is for a 997GT3 or 997GT3 RS.

delanobe 15-05-2008 01:06 PM

I'm not really a fan of Lotus but yours looks very nice. :)

Rich D 15-05-2008 01:06 PM

Cheers mate - you too :)

Yeah the GT3 RS is nice but a little too hardcore. Id have any colour except the silver/orange one.

The green one has grown on me of late! :)

delanobe 15-05-2008 01:24 PM

I'm a bit hardcore in cars, almost all the new cars are full with electronic gadgets so the driving sensation is gone.

That's why I bought the 993 5 years ago and I'm not planning to sell it.

MK999 15-05-2008 01:25 PM

Volvo S60 T5 - With lowered with other coils and dampers... dont know if it is bling, but i like it, Black as sin... :P

I started a similar thread not long ago - these are my old cars so thought i'd post up pics

Renault Clio 1.8 16v Dimma Conversion, Head work, Chip, De-Cat Exhaust, Race Cams, Huge cossie Air Filter with proper cold feed and isolated with heat protection - about 165bhp but it had NO Torque - The day i decided to sell was when a Vauxhall Zafira GSI Turbo thing did me going up a hill!! I had 3 in my car so it didn't help but it was enough to make me get rid :-)
http://www.anything-cars.com/images/...Frontright.jpg

BMW E36 M3 Evo (321Bhp) only a couple of subtle things done like a Schnitzer carbon strut brace and i also bought some nice genuine hella crystal headlights which looked awesome - This car was my favourite by far, SMG gearbox, 36k miles from new and was absolutely 100% mint, not a single small tiny door dent or anything - the wheels were original too and also mint!
http://www.anything-cars.com/images/...s/IMAG0051.JPG

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR, 286BHP, 4x4 and great fun, very very thirsty as it used to cost me about £5 to drive less then 10 miles to work by the time i'd let it warm up and cool down again - i did have fun with the AYC though giving it a bit of a hammering on a nice section of *private* roundabouts
http://www.anything-cars.com/images/...s/DSCF0189.JPG

Nissan Pulsar GTI-R, this car was Black and manky when i got it - then my Dad and I rebuilt the engine when it popped, had a new Turbo, full stainless exhaust with large bore front pipe, de-cat, dawes device (bleed valve) adjusted to 1bar giving just under 300bhp, big Godspeed 4 pot calipers, fully adjustable coilover suspension, 17" Speedline Chrono's in white, custom paintwork (Actually painted red and white) - some of them are stickers but a lot was paint, i did a fair few interior mods but didn't ever get round to fitting the bucket seats and cage i wanted.
http://www.anything-cars.com/images/...ontLOWLeft.jpg

Renault 5 GT Turbo, running 210bhp this thing was a rocket ship - every single engine mod done under the sun, fully colour coded also with bright blue and yellow hoses - every single rubber hose was replaced with Samco silicone hoses, also loads of nice bits like the KTR 230 Turbo, DD Autosports rebuild with Forged pistons, stage 4 head, race cams, group a Carb, full exhaust, Copper core rad, loads of interior stuff - all sorts of bits that i really can't remember now
http://www.anything-cars.com/images/uploads/mycar2.jpg

VW Mk4 Golf GTi, 18" Audi RS6 Wheels (Shown here) but it now has the new style Audi RS4 rims on it - that's about it as i can't afford to modify cars now!
http://www.anything-cars.com/images/...s/GolfGTIA.jpg

VW Mk3 Golf VR6, Lowered on Coilovers with some nice schmit rims (9" rears), de-badged grille, crystal lights etc it looked pretty cool

Have recently bought a BMW Coupe through work, looks like this:

Have you had 2 Renault 5's Nick?

Dave, that 350Z - is it orange? I was looking at one parked up at Oswestry at weekend. Id have one if it wasn;t for that strut brace accross the boot space :(. Great car though.

Everyone in this thread has great taste! We should make it sticky!

Im currently driving a Focus ST170 in magnum Grey, I love it. It isn't modified in any way, but it is in excellent condition, with plenty of wax on it... although it gets parked under trees at work  and looks a bit mucky til Friday afternoon comes & I wash it properly, it may get a wax tomorrow (and I get some sun on the drive while doing it).

Incidentilly, anyone interested in buying it? I am looking into getting an Audi TT Coupe once I come back from the Belgium GP. (anyone see one for sale, please give me a heads-up, got to be Pre-March 2001)

MK999 15-05-2008 02:39 PM

could always take the strut brace out of the boot Chris, I'd imagine it was for handling reasons rather than working strength, might be wise to ask a nissan tuner or something first tho :woot: Or you could replace it with something shaped like:
...______________
_/........................... \_
to clear the boot space? (Excuse the dots the board automatically deletes excessive spacing :p

If your ideal car is perfect apart from one detail... change it !

Amended now and added some info about each one in case anyone's interested!

The ST170's are good cars too - cheap for the performance, and nice and economical - i just struggle to like Fords, i love the old Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts and the Focus RS was a grower but i'd like to see them make the New Focus RS they keep promising, 4x4 and over 300bhp it should be awesome.

I thought you had a Golf chris?

Chrislong 15-05-2008 03:23 PM

Yeh I keep reading about the new Focus RS, meant to be 300bhp but rumours are it'll still be FWD. Some guy from Ford in an interview said big power can now be achieved with FWD due to LSD and Traction control... personally I think he should lay off the LSD, surely having big power is pointless if the TC is just going to limit it anyway.

No I have never had a Golf, but I do like them. I like the Mk3 and 4 best. But im looking at Coupe's now, if I was going to stick with hatch's id keep what I have - as unless I wanted a Diesel for economy I can't see any point in changing otherwise.... infact, with hindsight, id still choose an ST170 (Post-2003, anything older had problems from new).

H plate mk1 1.6 mx5 for top down sub 100mph back road fun.

cbr1000rr 04 fireblade for very fast road fun ( for sale and to be replaced with a firestorm to keep my licence intact and make some££)

gsxr 600 srad track bike with daytime mot mad track tool bit skittish on normal roads.

xr650r supermoto mental 650cc single which wheelies everywhere.

transit connect works van slow boring but good raceday transport.

1.6 mk 1 focus suprisingly good to drive and tows the track bike trailer well.

I gave up on fast cars after I got my full bike licence and had a go on an old jelly mould cbr600 60 in 3.5 seconds 130 in just over 8 seconds.

I've maxed the blade once on ( ahem ) private roads believe me at 171mph you NEED to concentrate 110% :woot:

MK999 15-05-2008 04:10 PM

My uncle had a fireblade, amazing machine, could hear him going for it when he rode off, there was no lifting off the throttle  sound of it was brilliant, had to sell it tho :(

I do love bikes, and would have had one if i'd had a chance but i know i would seriously damage myself if i had a fast road bike!! As fun as they are they're proper license losers but i like your style of having a track bike Giles, nice and safe and you don't have to worry about getting caught

I absolutely loved having a fast car, as much as it got annoying with lads in Nova's / Corsa's trying to race you the buzz was still good but the money in Fuel now just kills it unless you've got a fair bit of spare wedge and with a house and wedding/honeymoon to pay for i realllllly don't! (i just blame her indoors)

Yeees, plus you can grow mushrooms in the boot - which handily gives you something to chew on while you wait for the AA man to recover you off the hard shoulder .

But when they are working ooo-errr what a noise .

Nothing wrong with a Nova ! much, anyway... k, maybe a little bit, but it does depend whos driving it. A C20LET conversion does give most things are run for their money until it gets twisty though :p
