Briangb 09-08-2012 07:25 AM

Hi Guys. Hoping to sneak out for the morning to get away from the decorating.
Probably about time I did some 4wd. Could well be the first time this year, as 2wd has been the favourite.
Now lets see what this ZX5- FS2 is like!

Do you have a short course truck class and if so what tyres assuming its dry?

Ta.

Hi,

I'm afraid we don't run short course. We have a few members that own them, but never seem to get enough to hold a heat. So until enough demand it's on hold.

Cheers

Dan

Good man, haven't seen you for ages mate. Hopefully you will be a bit rusty :)

DragonRider 10-08-2012 06:29 PM

Wez and I are interested in coming down on Sunday with the TLR 22's.

Is there enough guys to run a 2WD heat to make it worth while of making a 3hr round trip.

I need to get the Hobbywing V3 up and running and setup ready for the last round of TORCH Summer Series and the LMR/Rudebits GP.

Yeah, last week we had 2 2wd heats and 1 4wd heat, we are expecting this Sunday morning to be fairly busy one. Looking like he weather is on our side this Sunday too.

Most people arrive for 8, aim to get racing by 9 or just after.

M.Andrews 11-08-2012 07:54 PM

Looking forward to tomorrow. I have sorted out my speed passion speedo(just to confirm should it be 428mod firmware on the speedo?) also a new 5.5 motor (which hope it won't thermal with the firmware done!).

DragonRider 12-08-2012 03:18 PM

Just got back from a great morning meet at TORCH. What more can be said, great organisation and a well run meeting.

Got the new Hobbywing V3 running sweet and a few setup changes for the final made a world of difference.

Will the results be posted anywhere as would love to see where Wez & I came in our finals.

Thanks again guys for a great days racing, well worth the 3 hour round trip.

See you again in a few weeks.

Mark

Good days racing, thanks to glen for the set-up tips after the final. Just need to get the gearing sorted, hi-power fan on order that should help and undertray now removed so hopefully won't go nuclear on this motor!!

Crazy L 12-08-2012 09:14 PM

Great mornings bash....sorry I meant racing:lol:
only 3rd time out with the Ansmann but improving all the time, well, some of the time at least, and the FrSky conversion is proving reliable in both cars too. See you all again very soon for some banter and toy car bashing:p

Will hopefully have a new leisure battery so I dont have to bother people for a charge or two.

I think I almost had the jump combo sorted after racing today too:o, not that anyone will believe me cos most a ya'll had gone home by then.

Thanks to Dan and Mikey for opening up and sorting us out:thumbsup:

See you all soon:thumbsup:

Thanks to Mikey and Dan for running an interesting mornings racing.
Feeling much more comfortable with the DB1 now. I think my driving has become a little more consistent, but still need to speed up a bit. For the second time in 3 meetings I managed to hit a stationery car on the fast straight. My eyes just cannot pan that far when joining the straight. Amazingly nothing broke
other than a bent hinge pin holder. Did manage to break a shock cap, but, hey, flying ants in your eye do tend to distract you slightly. How come these things only happen on the fast sections. Must learn how to drive a final. Too many mistakes on the first lap leave you with a lot to do. Overall though, happy with my driving, and cannot praise the DB1 highly enough.

DragonRider 14-08-2012 08:52 AM

Is there any update as to the results please kind sirs

He took it out for a test and I think he broke something. Brian is loving his DB1.

hotrodchris 15-08-2012 05:10 PM

He shredded his spur gear in practice on the FS2 John, but looked ok with the DB1.

Briangb 15-08-2012 08:51 PM

Hi John. Yes. Clever me. To be honest I think the spur gear may have been damaged for some time. It had managed to sneak through my quality control checks. No one believes how long I have had the FS2. I always manage to stretch out the build time. When the build had been completed, I had some issues. These were mostly electrical. Having then got the Vega, swiftly followed by the DB1:p, my time was prioritised in 2wd. Now, having found a little time, thought I should give 4wd a bash. Obviously I overlooked the spur mesh during my back garden testing. Good job I went prepared on Sunday with spare cars. Me being me, thought the best way out of a problem was to use the DB1. Good decision, as it saved me losing any track time, apart from some damage in the heats. Well pleased with the DB1. Reckon this is one car even Mickey will be hanging onto for a while. Unless of course he invests in an RB6.
See you soon.
