2013 Mid South Regionals

Ok, so I know this is obscenely early but I was wondering when talks start over next years regionals?

I missed this years as I ventured into the world of 1/8 nitro, which I adored to be honest but as much as I love the cars and the racing the structure of the racing calendar didn't really suit so here I am back in electric with a Cougar SV2. :woot: Bit annoyed that I bought it last week and haven't even built it yet and the price has dropped by £40 but that's another story!

The problem for me with nitro was how infrequent the meetings were, my local track had the large scale euros this year which is fantastic for them but not so fantastic for me with the track being closed for about 6 weeks to prep it for the big day. I also moved house which meant Sundays were often taken up doing dull domestic things which meant the nitro struggled to take off for me as the midweek club meets just weren't there like they are in 1/10.

So here I am back with the joys of Silverstone, Telstar and maybe even DMS meaning I can always find somewhere to race no matter how hectic my week(end) may be. :woot:

Back to the original point though, when do discussions start over next years regionals as I want to make up for what I missed out on this year. I'm dying to know what tracks will be included as there was a great line up this year, plus obviously there is Silverstone with their top notch indoor track, and Telstar with their choice of surfaces. How can you pick only 5 from those 7, plus I am sure there may even be one or two others I haven't thought of...?

So when do the powers that be start planning what delights we have in store for next year??

Sorry, I'd just woke up and wanted to play with James. That sounds wrong on so many levels :woot:

Somebody sensible from the region will be along shortly with something official I'm sure. We're just waiting for all clubs to confirm dates.

Very mate, just from the 20 or so showing massive interest that didn't even do one event last year. Some other clubs were talking large numbers that weren't there last year. Kinda scary really as spaces will be limited. Lets hope ALL clubs support our great region as last year I believe we were one of the most attended in the country!!

mikeyscott 12-01-2013 10:41 PM

A great 2012 season and looking forward to when booking in opens.

Just got to have a better season and better weather.

Dudders 12-01-2013 11:27 PM

Yup, this year will be massive, bigger and better than last year with so many drivers going to be travelling :woot:

Not sure exactly what you mean about the traveling, Neil. We all know we live/race in an usually big region! :eh?:

Darren Boyle 12-01-2013 11:39 PM

120 spaces for each of you in the regional class at every round then? :woot:

(Dont forget heads of clubs, I will need to know you entry "limits" for each of your venues BEFORE I can put the booking in live on the website as discussed at the meeting on Wednesday)

From what I been told speaking around there's lots going to each round who didn't last year! So hence, more travelling from club to club :woot:

Hi James,

Details are as per the "main thread" I just posted, but bascially you go to the the club hosting the first round that you wish to race at this year (Silverstone by the looks of things) you send them a payment for your entry into their meeting coming up (£10) AND the payment for the last event you missed/did not show for (also £10 so £20 in all) once the club recieve your £20 payment they will arrange to remove you from the reserve list (hence your "red" colour) and place you in with the normal entries.....

(Sadly it looks like it could have been a few you did not show for last season - choose from either TORCH, DMS or Stotfold last year by the looks of things assuming your BRCA no is 9937 and comparing the meetings entered to those you scored points at)

Hope that helps and makes sense.

Darren

I personally feel you could have left this little dig off the post unfortunately sometimes things happen in life that require big changes. Trust me i didnt want to miss any rounds but when your girlfriend takes your child and leaves you with a house to run toy car racing gets forgotten about.

Please believe me 100% there was no dig intended at all, I anticiapted that your next question would be that you did not know what meetings you had missed so I put the info there for you to try to help.

I offer the booking in system FREE of charge to our region every year to make the racers life and ease of booking in as simple as possible, trust me I dont want the grief of tons of PM's, phone calls during work time and private emails to sort out people entries foir them because for "whatever" reason (avoidable or not) they have failed to turn up un-announced at a race meeting, trust me I have FAR better things to be doing with my time too.....

All the region are asking anyone to do, is simply make one phone call or send one email to a club if you cannot attend, sadly for me, I have been given the responsability of posting this info onto forums such as this and consequently it is me who takes the flak when people dont like it....

Kelk 04-02-2013 07:00 PM

Hi all,

This will be my first year of regionals and I am waiting on my BRCA number so it won't let me register. Is there any way around this?

I'm certainly looking at doing silverstone, SHRCCC, TORCH and maybe Stotfold

Thanks

Darren,

With the arrival of the new schumacher Block rear and front tyres.....

The question is are we eligable to run these along side the Mini Spike?

Cheers

Hi Jay,

Clubs have nominated two tyres for each round, Sch Minispike and BB Spike at all the remaining outdoor rounds and Sch Minipin and BB Minipin at the indoor round at our venue (DMS) so no they wont be allowed sadly.

As for "new" that is not quite true, Sch first released this tread pattern over 18 years ago now, they have just re-relased it in todays compound. To show how old they are, they are still 2.0" and not 2.2" like modern tyres (they need to be stretched over todays wheels to fit)

Darren
