thanks - ryan |

Or you can wrap them in tin foil (stops the house smelling) then put them in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes at 150c
They then just peel off nice and easy. |

Steam them off
I heard that an it is possible to steam them off, club member said put them in a steamer for an hour, I'm gonna try it later today if the wife will lend me her steamer )

The last picture of the wheels on that website show that their is still the glue left on the wheels. Acetone removes the glue from the wheels aswell. |
Acetone is the best way:thumbsup:
|
Stupidly flammable too, added bonus

keep on flogging your acetone mate  |
The wheels will warp when heated.
The proline ones are not perfectly round at the best of times anyway:lol: Acetone is the way forward:thumbsup: |
they will only warp if you heat them in say an oven, steaming them won't warp them, mine are all still perfectly round :). acetone will be more effective at disolving the glue, but messing around with dangerous chemicals isn't ideal for everyone.
|
Its not even dangerous if you bathe in it.
It can be flammable but it is less flammable than having a bowl of petrol on the table. In industry, having acetone in a process does not warrant a hazardous area title. Its not that bad:thumbsup: Its the glue on my fingers from peeling the tyres off that gets on my tits:lol: |
can i put the tyres in nail varnish remover that has acetone in it dosnt it
|
Yes as long as you dont get the acetone free stuff:thumbsup:

just don't put your face in it Acetone is also used to make plastic, fibers, drugs, and other chemicals. In addition to being manufactured as a chemical, acetone is also found naturally in the environment, including in small amounts in the human body sound ok doesn't it |
Steaming them is proberly just asdangerous as aceton as to make steam you have to have boilling water. Try getting that on you whoa it hurts.

[quote=bigred5765;121152]you mentioned warp, i said it will alter them, and it will, steaming them will soften the plastic making them weak and soft.and make your car drive well just wrong.
Complete foundationless twaddle. Enough said from both of us on the subject of steaming. The acetone will do a great job as long as people are careful with it :) |
Steaming does keep the flavour in though:thumbsup:
