Or you can wrap them in tin foil (stops the house smelling) then put them in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes at 150c

They then just peel off nice and easy.

Steam them off

I heard that an it is possible to steam them off, club member said put them in a steamer for an hour, I'm gonna try it later today if the wife will lend me her steamer )

rcracer 05-05-2008 12:50 PM

Acetone is the best way:thumbsup:

MK999 05-05-2008 01:41 PM

acetone and a decent sealed container.

use in a well ventilated area with eye protection and keep well away from sources of ignition

keep on flogging your acetone mate

Lee 05-05-2008 04:01 PM

The wheels will warp when heated.

The proline ones are not perfectly round at the best of times anyway:lol:

Acetone is the way forward:thumbsup:

Medders 05-05-2008 04:06 PM

they will only warp if you heat them in say an oven, steaming them won't warp them, mine are all still perfectly round :). acetone will be more effective at disolving the glue, but messing around with dangerous chemicals isn't ideal for everyone.

Lee 05-05-2008 04:13 PM

Its not even dangerous if you bathe in it.

It can be flammable but it is less flammable than having a bowl of petrol on the table. In industry, having acetone in a process does not warrant a hazardous area title.

Its not that bad:thumbsup:

Its the glue on my fingers from peeling the tyres off that gets on my tits:lol:

ryan_93 05-05-2008 04:36 PM

can i put the tyres in nail varnish remover that has acetone in it dosnt it

Lee 05-05-2008 04:38 PM

Yes as long as you dont get the acetone free stuff:thumbsup:

I dont see what is unsafe about acetone. It is only as unsafe as the user makes it.

rcracer 05-05-2008 04:51 PM

i wish there was a odourless method as my lungs cant tolerate any sort of fumes, hospital jobby for me

you mentioned warp, i said it will alter them, and it will, steaming them will soften the plastic making them weak and soft.and make your car drive well just wrong, i have no need to worry about my sales,of SUPER GLUE DISSOLVER,people that use it know how good it is
including bradders, craggy,Riley,Yardy, need i say any more

mines pretty much oder less
just don't put your face in it

Acetone is also used to make plastic, fibers, drugs, and other chemicals. In addition to being manufactured as a chemical, acetone is also found naturally in the environment, including in small amounts in the human body
sound ok doesn't it

ashleyb4 05-05-2008 06:20 PM

Steaming them is proberly just asdangerous as aceton as to make steam you have to have boilling water. Try getting that on you whoa it hurts.

Complete foundationless twaddle. Enough said from both of us on the subject of steaming.

The acetone will do a great job as long as people are careful with it :)

Lee 05-05-2008 06:49 PM

Steaming does keep the flavour in though:thumbsup:
