Thanks for pointing that Ralf. I've never seen them before - I simmply thought they are Double Dees :)

badger5 29-06-2012 08:31 PM

I wonder if this is a taste for the next CAT? Alloy chassis, CVD drive shafts and gear diff option.

MattW 29-06-2012 08:38 PM

Nice spot Ralf!! I probably still have some somewhere. Definitely still have some silver mini pins!

Kev B 29-06-2012 08:43 PM

Looks cool,

I'm sure i have some pink mini spikes somewhere.

What about pink and original silver minipin, pink Minispike ,stagger rib in Bibx, mini block in blue and silver, and thatīs in the first half of my basement

The only that I miss are CAT Spikes in red.

Cruise

MattW 29-06-2012 09:35 PM

Origonal silver pin - check, pink mini pin - check, BiBX stagger - check, mini block silver - check (I think!), in blue possibly, think I threw them out! Green mini pin - check. Not sure I ever had pink mini spike, it was obvious they wouldn't work!! Might have tried some of someone elses, but they wouldn't even stay on the rim generally.

I also have a lot of old crap stashed away in boxes.

Back on the subject, it's a really nice looking car. I had a look at one a couple of weeks back and felt really nice. The gear box felt good as well, and it was one that hadn't turned a wheel yet.

john333 29-06-2012 10:14 PM

Legacy555 30-06-2012 09:12 AM

Can you still mount the rear shocks behind the rear wishbones with SVR?

Looking at pics - no.
Gear cover will be in way of shocks. Also shocktower mounting will need drilling out hole trough to be able to mount shocktower from back (so I don't think it was intended)

MikePimlott 30-06-2012 03:45 PM

Tom Cockerill just ran the SVR in round 4 at the BRCA Oswestry National.

hazeandfizz 30-06-2012 11:09 PM

Just watched the launch car used for the photos take 4th place in the 2nd leg of today's national A final. Pretty impressive as I don't think the car was tested on wet muddy grass!!

unless Ellis now drives for Schumacher I think your mistaken. I found some pics of the race on the net and saw both Moss and Cockril using the sv2

Sorry mate but you have to learn to read ;)
Mossy finished 4th in 2nd leg not overall
And they indeed ran SVR in finals despite they started with SV2 in morning

isn't changing chassis during a meeting considered cheating?

john333 01-07-2012 03:16 PM

Not sure how often I'd use it but I REALLY want one anyway, looks gorgeous

Is Worksop considered low grip? As I'm going to do some of them this year

Robocop 01-07-2012 05:56 PM

Well think it would be my wet car after this summer wont be a bad thing to have

john333 01-07-2012 06:20 PM

Hmm, not a bad idea

MikePimlott 01-07-2012 06:38 PM

Wonder if there will be a conversion from the sv2 to the SVR.

Alter it trackside like other current models ATM

toddzellia 01-07-2012 06:39 PM

been posted on another forum, no conversion, besides new chassis, rear end and front wishbones would make it not an easy swap job

Robocop 01-07-2012 07:02 PM

Wonder the front track is wider will the rear be also does not say so but never know as it is the prototype ???
Like to see how the rear toe is done also

Under IFMAR and ROAR I'm pretty confident the rule is you have to use in the finals the car you qualified with. Not sure about Brit rules. Maybe different.

Yachty 05-07-2012 06:30 PM

I can see the market for this car very cool and definately a change in motor position back to the early scumacher 2wd cars. I personally prefer mid motor for UK tracks. Just one point for Schumacher I HATE the bodyshell maybe the cougar SV2 one will fit  wouldn;t stop me from buying one though.

johnboy 05-07-2012 07:01 PM

Got to look at the SVR today thanks muzzy. Its a nice piece of kit very well made. Should be a good car

outtafocus 28-07-2012 10:14 PM

I have an older Cougar SV, I picked it up used last year and have not yet run it.
With recent news here in Calgary Canada of an indoor 1/10th clay track opening up for winter, I may just have to get my 2wd buggy going.

Seeing as the SVR with its rear motor is aimed more for the North American style tracks, and the aluminum chassis, I am very interested in going that route.

Going through the SVR manual and parts lists, looks like many of the SV parts can cross over, but I know not all.
Seeing as I have not even driven my current SV, and it is in very good shape, should I just run what I have or upgrade now?

I just dont want to waste the handful of parts I already do have.
Those with the SVR and an SV, what do you think of the parts compatibility?

Robocop 29-07-2012 03:58 PM

Ran my svr instead of my sv2 on purpose and have to say impressed by it,sv2 would have been better today as it was high grip but still good

Martyn (Bomber) 29-07-2012 04:01 PM

I was surprised you ran it all day as the weather/track improved, did look ok tho

Robocop 29-07-2012 04:18 PM

I have rounds to spare

Martyn (Bomber) 29-07-2012 08:16 PM

That's ok then

Arn0 03-08-2012 02:30 AM

Some may interested in an editable setup sheet for the SVR, there is one on petit in case that can help.
