the track has had a lot of work done to it over the winter by a group of local lads. the track is now capable of multiple layouts by moving just a few hoses. the track has had a good weeding etc and has had a lot of sand removed. i went down month or so ago and the car came of the track with very little sand in it.

the actual track were running wont be put down until the day. we dont even no the layout so thell be no home advantage:drool:

Canoe / paddle !!!!

Jamesy 21-06-2012 10:26 AM

Rain!

With the forecasted for heavy rain today and more rain tomorrow is it likely the track will be flooded?

Rich D mentions the track was flooded on Monday and we havn't had the best weather this week to completely dry things up.

Could somebody go and check the track is raceable on Friday evening and make a decision whether the meeting will be run on Saturday? It would be good to know Friday evening as there are quite a few people travelling a fair distance for this meeting.

maky 21-06-2012 11:21 AM

Theres people going down this afternoon and Friday aswell so will let ya know

john333 21-06-2012 11:25 AM

Agree with the above post, admittedly we are only racing Sunday but it would be great if people updated on here what conditions are like. 80 miles is a long way to go to find out the meeting is cancelled

Dave 1975 21-06-2012 11:39 AM

You pipped me to it John lol

Me and my mate Paul are coming down from Sheffield so as John said we'd be very grateful for a track update Saturday or something..

Regards

Dave

john333 21-06-2012 12:43 PM

Not that I'm a prima dona though, if it's on I'll be racing lol

maky 21-06-2012 05:54 PM

Just been down the track . considering the rain we just had due a tornado going through long Sutton up the road....yeah ya read right .. the track is 80% usable with a few large puddles that were drying pretty quick

wes 21-06-2012 06:01 PM

And how would you rate conditions under foot for those who have not got toes joined together:woot:

bigtrev 21-06-2012 06:14 PM

Hi adam can you pm me a contact number for your dad just in case we dont come sat due the rain and racing hong nor and they are not water proof at all like a buggy. And i dont want to let you all down as trying to get sat and sunday.

Thanks for checking on the conditions. Hopefully they will improve for Saturday. How does the pitting/camping area stand up to the rain?

JBL 21-06-2012 08:33 PM

Also what tyres would you use in the wet, Schumacher greens, Ballistic greens etc.

maky 21-06-2012 08:54 PM

Trev - dads number is at bottom of my first post .

Jamesy - grass area for pitting ain't to bad in the rain. Bit of a muddy section before u get on it but if you go around that its fine .

Jbl - ain't sure on this as its long while since we hit the track when its wet . I'm sure it was ballistics tho

bigtrev 21-06-2012 10:18 PM

got it thanks adam hope to see you sat and sunday

thanks

trev

Jamesy 22-06-2012 03:37 PM

PE14 looks alright on Metcheck-

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...p?zipcode=Pe14

I guess weather forecasting isn't an exact science!

I'll take the Metcheck forecast.

Has anybody been to the track today to see how it is? We've had quite a bit of rain locally.

Adams put some pics up on FB, looks fine for now, a few small puddles off line but nothing to stop a meeting. Im sure he will post here shortly

maky 22-06-2012 04:42 PM

Yeah just been down getting rid of the big puddles. fast and we was spreading them out the track was drying . The main problem we get when it rains is the puddle at the start of the straight. We just put in a second loop and modified the track to avoid that area just incase . Other problem areas if we need to can also be avoided . So basically unless it really chucks it down tomoz shouldn't be an issue to race .

Just a warning getting to the pitting area tho. It's a bit muddy head out towards the burger van before you cut across . The grass area itself for pitting is perfectly fine tho

See ya all in the morning

racingben 22-06-2012 08:58 PM

Is there a shop there this weekend.

Need some yellow rear minispikes for Sunday if it's dry.

maky 22-06-2012 09:04 PM

a1 is bringing there shop

Secret Squirrel 22-06-2012 11:09 PM

A1 Hobbies will not be at eastrax on Saturday his partners car gave up the ghost today so he need to find a replacement for her,if all goes to plan he will be there for the 2wd on Sunday ,sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

dadtc3 24-06-2012 11:34 AM

Big thanks to all who cleared all the water off the track only for the heavens to open and ruin all the good work
At least we got the 4wd regional completed on saturday
Tony

wes j. 24-06-2012 11:51 AM

My response entirely, shame the heavens opened when the track looked fit to race on.

racingben 24-06-2012 06:55 PM

Yes thanks guys for your hard work. Shame mother nature didn't agree with toy car racing today!

Dave Dodd 24-06-2012 07:47 PM

Piccies here on FB

Big pat on the back to all who helped clearing the track

******* weather   Grrrr

although had good laugh, good weekend & 4wd was brilliant
(yes it did finish all the races despite making everyone wait while i fitted a new hinge pin )

Robbiejuk 24-06-2012 10:28 PM

Gutted about today, cocked my season right up now. About three hours track clearing for five minutes of rain to put it all back again.

Still the 4wd on saturday was ace

Dave 1975 24-06-2012 10:40 PM

Yeah it's a shame there isn't more indoor venues to fall back on... The weather seems to be getting worse these days with frequent rainy summers! :(
