Akula Racing. You can find them on Facebook. Should be for sale very soon. The prototype shown in the picture is getting very good results. The shell to go with it looks very nice too.

PaulUpton 04-06-2012 08:00 AM

That's my car

Conversation is done by Akula Racing. http://www.akularacing.co.uk/

Still prototype testing at the moment.

ben44 04-06-2012 08:04 AM

It's very nice, did you have a information about the price?
Did we can putt a shorty pack?

PaulUpton 04-06-2012 08:29 AM

No pricing yet but I'm sure it will be very competively prices against other mid convertions

Yep shorty packs will fit in the chassis

adon30 04-06-2012 08:42 AM

Looks nice. You need to get the green bits anodised red to match! Lol

Does it only fit with a low profile servo?
I hear the developments coming along well. Can't wait to see one about.

jasonrcb 04-06-2012 08:43 AM

Looking forward to my conversion arriving and getting it out on track, the new shell will be pretty sweet when its finished also:thumbsup:

PaulUpton 04-06-2012 09:01 AM

Yep pre production chassis have been ordered and waiting to test them. Bodyshell mould has been done too.

Slimline servo would be ideal but mainly for lipos being length ways along the chassis As in the photo

Hpi_guy 04-06-2012 09:02 AM

A competitor for the centro?

adey 04-06-2012 09:29 AM

That looks great. I like the 22 conversion akula did also

DCM 04-06-2012 09:44 AM

I hope, unlike the C4.1, you are going to topdeck brace from the bulkhead to battery post to stop chassis bend....

Better the chassi is in cabon so no problem of twick
Sure less price and better than the C4.1 aluminium ...

PaulUpton 04-06-2012 10:04 AM

I tried carbon. But preferred the alloy one so that's the one we chose, plus it's a lot cheaper

I've been running the chassis for 2 months racing 2-3 nights a week and there is no sign of bending at all, we had another grade alloy chassis which bent almost straight away but this one has been fine. You can stiffen the car up by raising the carbon brace down the side but as off yet thee has been no need to.

Loving the conversion, any bodyshell pics ?

LewisStrong 04-06-2012 03:04 PM

The pup2c goes round nicely - shell nice also!

adey 04-06-2012 04:00 PM

Looks to me as of the lipos could be run either way around. Side by side or as shown.

adey 04-06-2012 07:03 PM

As Paul says, we're using a 3mm thick 6082 aluminium chassis with 3mm carbon fibre side braces that sit on the chassis and run from under the bulkhead posts to the rear of the car. This has worked the best for Paul, with no signs of bending. If people want to stiffen it up further we will be offering a kit with an additional 4 stand-off posts so the side plates can be raised up 12mm and add further stiffness. We're currently getting some pre-production kits produced for a number of drivers to run to make sure this gives the right balance between performance and durability.

We've also tested a carbon chassis - but that didn't perform as well as the aluminium version. We also had a 5000 series aluminium chassis, but that bends too easily. We're putting a lot of effort into making sure that the final product is not only fast, but also durable without having to buy additional parts or modify it.

We're just working to finalise the price at the moment. Providing we don't need to change anything from the pre-production kits then the current specification and price won't change. We'll post something up in the next couple of days when we've finished putting the parts list together - so you can see what is included in the kit.

There are some more detailed photos of one of the prototypes on our Facebook page;

Did we know change the anti cabrage (sus. holder spacer) with your red part?
Did you thinks we will can putt the new gear diff?

Chalkie 05-06-2012 08:18 PM

I will have one of the other prototypes at the mid west regionals if anyone wants a closer look.
