Is this shell on the legal gt12 list?

mark christopher 17-05-2012 11:04 AM

Looks like It's the ascari shell so yes

s22jgs 17-05-2012 02:23 PM

ok cool.

Shame the mardave TC shell isnt legal, but then i guess its not a TC class.

Ascari shell looks real nice

stegger 17-05-2012 03:57 PM

I've just cut and mounted my schumacher ascari body, and i'm finding it a bit poor quality, not symmetrical, no overspray film or any marks for the correct window locations.

Aren't the "Schumacher" bodies just Kamtec ones in a Schumacher packet? And they're only £12 (or even cheaper direct from Kamtec) so TBH I reckon the lack of nice bits like overspray film is an acceptable trade off. That being said, I would happily pay another couple of quid for the film as masking off the outside of my Tigra shell was a right pain in the arse.

bit of cling film sorts that out

DCM 20-05-2012 11:30 AM

If your worried about doodling the design on the outside in marker pen, use a Lynx deodorant to wipe it away.

My Stox

Was Interesting I ran it as G2 4.8v 1st week to see what it was like and it was great. However with 13.5t 1S it was horrid. I put my Diff in and it was good again.

Seems out of box with G2 great car, to run with 13.5t you need a few hop ups. Did manage fastest lap though just not consistant with 13.5t

Fun to play with but prefer to race my Dave.

Here's mine, with a single colour Tigra body although the included window masks don't give the wraparound rear window that a Tigra has (and I couldn't be bothered to mask them out myself :p). Been wondering what to do with that can of Camel Yellow for at least 3 years.

just waiting for my ESC to arrive, gone for a Hobbywing XeRun 1S.

I'm using a Futaba S9602 from my old 1/12th, and good old servo-tape :D

Headlight stickers were from a HPI Supra 200mm and Wing mounts from the Protoform LMP 200mm.

john73 15-08-2012 05:16 PM

Very nice, too much work gone into that to race. I would use that as the transport/display shell then have a rattle can shell for racing. Or am i being boring :eh?:

Are they Mardave V12 rear wheels ?

Are they a direct fit front & rear, shame they don't come with tyres fitted, don't fancy buying the machine to true them.

colin367 15-08-2012 05:49 PM

Hi

Yes they are the mardave rears, their fronts with the bearings/bushes look like 50p when on, they are never truely round. Contacts all round normally for me.

For glued and trued try Kamtec :)

Mark Christopher - really like the rear wing and mounts on your Ascari, where are they from if you don't mind my asking.

Supastox ready to shakedown

My local club runs a hotrod outlaw class which this will have to run in. Not tested yet, hoping to have time to run shakedown tests either this sunday or next. Everything is in there rtr, it looks alittle tight on space as its a 1S car modified to run 2S saddles. If it runs ok then i'll shorten all the wires and tidy it up alittle. Shell paint needs some touching up too but nothing drastic

I do like the Fiesta Mark, that could be the next bodyshell i purchase.

The HPI 85193 can also be purchased as part of 85197

Nice one Reg...

Not quite as sweet as the Vega paint but looks good,

Is the mesh on the back vents to stop it parachuting over jumps?

still think they should be raced with a Mk2 Transit bodyshell, who needs aeros when they can have a proper A-Team paint job! :p

I dont know how long the shell will last(or rather how long i keep the car:woot:),thats the reason iv done it my self.

LOL,the back part is not cut out,it was masked off, then i just put glass tape on the inside to make it look ACE!

The A Team van would be cool
