B44 - wiring

There's a few threads kicking about now showing off people wiring on other cars, i though that now i have mine it's about time people showed off how neat there B44 is  I found it quite easy to get a neat job in it, even with a standard sized servo and a GTB it wasnt to bad, i'll stick some pics up in the morning.

MiCk B. 16-04-2008 10:01 PM

Here's an old pic of mine.

I've tidied up the sensor wire a little more.

Here's a few pics of my B44
Ignore the unroar legal RS4MT...man I wish i could race this truck..but cannot.

The B44 has not very much chassis room...hard to get all the electrics
in it a perfect fit...but associated did that for a reason, to make the B44
tough and as light as possible. I have not broke a thing on my B44 in months.

Mike Hudson 17-04-2008 10:47 PM

what have you done to that shell and wheels!:wtf::o:cry:

ashleyb4 17-04-2008 11:24 PM

Destroy them?

ben 17-04-2008 11:55 PM

maybe he just wants to be different:confused::lol:

Mike Hudson 18-04-2008 12:02 AM

how different?;)

Lee 18-04-2008 07:19 AM

How old are you B44'opheirgkber, i imagine you are only 12/13.

Just to let you know though, putting random stickers and attacking bodies with marker pens is not cool. Even if it looks cool in your head, it very rarely works out that way.

I`m sure Golf land are proud to have there name on the wing though:thumbsup:

I`m not even going to start on the wheels, im sure you know they are just wrong:thumbdown:

josh_smaxx 18-04-2008 10:19 AM

My shell didnt turn out very well :p i tried to paint it black and irridecent pink/gold  but the irridecent pooled and it looks crap :(

It only works if you learn to do extremely thin layers at a time and wait till its completely dry between coats, i've done a few b4 shells with the irresdecent paint, first 1 went wrong as yours did with it pooling then second one went really well :D

MiCk B. :-)

Hi Guys, forgive me if this is a stupid question, but as in the pic above, the motor wires go under the top deck, which means they are quite tight resting against the motor, is this ok? or when the motor gets hot will this do any damage to the wires, or possibly cause any interference? Or am I just being dull as when the motor gets hot the wires get hot too??

Just wiring my speedo in now and cant decide if I should put the wires under or over the top deck.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Mike Hudson 29-04-2008 07:07 PM

This is fine but it is helpful to smooth off the topdeck edges so they don't dig into the wires

silky 29-04-2008 10:18 PM

Ok, cheers Mike.

Short sensor wires

Does anyone know if you can buy shorter sensor wires for LRP controllers, I need one about 30mm long (1.2 Inches) to allow me to wire up my car neatly without big folds off excess wire tie wrapped out of the way.

I think you can buy ones that are shorter than the ones that come with the speedo, as I am sure when my mate bought a Nosram package he also bought the optional shorter lead, but i think even the short version is quite a bit longer than 30mm.

Zedman 30-04-2008 06:12 PM

Another question

Thanks for the reply Silky if I cant get one sort enough I will cut a standard one in the middle and solder it together and avoid having to touch the connectors

Next question is where to put the AMB PT, seems there are a few worries about the carbon chassis interfering with signals, suggestions and personal experience/recomendations would be most welcome

Maybe stick it to the bottom chassis plate and drill a 10mm hole underneath it ?

No need for that. Graphite doesn't cause any interferance with the PT's so anywhere will do really (I have mine on top of the servo).

Zedman 30-04-2008 10:09 PM

But the B44 Chasis is Carbon?

But the B44 Chasis is Carbon not graphite ?

I can assure you there are no interference problems with pt's in the car, i've mounted mine just under the front dopdeck (red thing) as you can see in the pic, nice place out of the way :)
