Adams D2 @ Batley
Been at Batley today, marshalling Adams heat car seemed nothing spectacular first two rounds then all hell broke loose the car was fantastic. Corner to corner speed and jumps were incredible.Definately a car to keep your eye on.
|
1st 2 practices and 2 rounds were tyre testing and set-up guessing.
Round 3 was much improved, car felt something like, Round 4 and final were better still. Glad I found a starting point for the regional. |
Only saw it in R4 and final, looked pretty good to me. Possibly a little overdamped and therefore loose at the rear but that could well be Adam's preference. Certainly no problems with traction, turn-in or corner speed
Got a proper look at the car and Adam was happy to discuss the design - I'm suitable impressed with the car! No 'spy' shots but got a few of the D2 in action - can post a few up this week if Adam is okay with that. |
No problems on the photos..

Where did yer finish Adam?
|
Not up to the standard of Jimmy's Euro shots, but here they are
Looked good out on the track... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...t/IMGP1982.jpg 'Cab forward' shell is growing on me too (nice job, Tel!)... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...t/IMGP2007.jpg To find the limts of a new car, one must surpass them (sorry Adam!)... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...t/IMGP1992.jpg Bit of rear end for those who like that sort of thing... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...t/IMGP1995.jpg |

Wow the front bulkhead looks interesting on this shot. Really high up supports on it. Is it still using the two piece front shocktower that was shown on the original spy shots? |
IIRC they scrapped the two-piece one in favour of a one-piece version. But you can't tell it on that pic.
|
you can now see the cross brace joining the two upright towers.
Had to much flex in the old ones. It was a good idea though. |
Front and rear towers are now one-piece, had to go this way as the one-piece ones flexed and could, in-effect tweak the car.
Never mind, a good idea down the pan, but at least we tried it. |
looks like d4 wheels on rear, and proline b4 on the front?
will hb do thier own for the front or is it too early to say? its looking good:) |
