LA112 for the zxs is the item. This is what I use for my rear CF gearbox that I use on my ZX.

What is the stuff he is selling usually worth?
I'm building up a Lazer from scratch and I'm not sure what the parts are worth as I have only bought parts for Mids so far

I'd like to use all new and upgrade parts where possible.

So far I have a chassis

My friend Lars the one that got the package he wanted me to put all my stuff up on the wall like in an hobby shop just for fun. maybe i will do that after i have built my new garage.

When i moved my stuff since i bought a new house my wife cleaned out my old stach there where some complaines about the quantity of rc related stuff.

zxr or zx-s ???

Welshy40 01-12-2012 11:17 AM

Well expensive, ten times higher for the zxs. 7 times more for the zxr.

ZX-R

Joe Kimble 01-12-2012 07:50 PM

Hi guys, long time no post...

I decided to do some laps with my ZX-R yesterday, and raced it too. I raced in an open class with different cars on the track. Anyway, I TQed and made 2nd. I drove the car as slow as possible, in order not to brake anything.

Here is a vid of the main:

Great video and not a bad drive. If you are using the standard wishbones the only thing that will break will be the belts and layshaft pulleys so you can go quicker if you want

Naushad 02-12-2012 02:25 PM

Tight drive Joe....like your mixing!

Anyone have a zxr undertray to sell.....ISO hobby bag maybe. Just don't ask me to be your bitch again... it hurt last time

Joe Kimble 02-12-2012 04:33 PM

Thanks guys! I had a great time racing it!

There are 2 things I felt about the handling:

- The one way bearing makes the car extremely unstable under braking and at corner entry.

- The battery (a 2s lipo stick), if put all the way in the back makes the rear slide like crazy.

I couldn't do anything about the one way, but I placed the battery further towards the front (all the way against the plastic part that holds the upper tray). That made a huge difference.

Does anybody have a trick to lock that one way?

Guys, do you know a trick to lock the one way bearing so the braking actions all 4 wheels?

Thanks

Just tighten the nut up that's used to adjust the one way. Loosen the grub screw in the middle of it, tighten the nut down and tighten the grub screw up and it isn't coming undone.

Joe Kimble 02-12-2012 08:16 PM

Thanks guys, I had tried that already and it doesn't lock it. Also, if I do that it brings the front belt too close to the upper tray and rubs against the left side of it. I rebuilt the rear gearbox to make sure I didn't miss something and apparently I built it right.

I'm going to try the reverse one way. I heard it put the brake action on the front wheels instead of the rear wheels?

Anyway I'm not planning on racing it again. I'll just drive it around in the woods if I have the occasion but most of the time it'll stay in shelf queen mode... :-)

Joe Kimble 02-12-2012 08:24 PM

About that play I mentioned, I think that putting one or two extra 8x12 shims between the bearing and the pulley should remove that play and keep the belt clear from the upper tray.
