What's all this I hear our finals don't count from Sunday?

So I had my best final ever and finished 2nd from 6th place but might as well packed up and saved my car from this state? Who writes these rules, sort it out.

Surely any final that has run and is finished is complete, the day is done… how do other finals ahead of mine being canceled effect my final result, why the need to say its not fair on everyone else who didn’t get to race a final, I don’t get it… at all!

Phil Sleigh do I email you as drivers rep to ‘officially’ state my unhappiness at that decision? (If this is the officially decision and someone doesn’t intervene with some common sense)

What can I say, was a great weekend of racing somewhat tarnished from gay rules it seems, was working on a video not really in the right frame of mind now, stupid rules.

This is a rant, sorry for the lack of love!

Team Hornby - they're on rails! :D

I think Oswestry team gave 120% effort, and so went 20% over-board with the blue ripples and 2x4's under the astro. Im glad the blue pipes went. The 4wd track I agree was best being the other way around.

As far as flat grass tracks go, it was better than the 2006 track.

Shame the weather wasn't in our favour.

neiloliver 16-07-2007 02:47 PM

At drivers briefing, everyone is told that if the weather gets bad, it is FINALS that will suffer. To be fair to everyone you have to scrap the whole set of finals. If you manage to move up a final and finish first that is great, but if the next guy has his final cancelled he will not get the chance to do the same, so all results have to be null and void.

We wished we could have finished the finals but we had marshalls falling over and safety comes first.

any pics from the weekend, if there weather was anything like I woke up to on Sunday morning on hols... boat racing would of been better....

Dave... your car is a little dirty... SHAME ON YOU!!

jimmy 16-07-2007 03:01 PM

Inexperience dave! Pricey took the smooth wide line coming onto the straight and you squared it off allowing him to get on the power sooner and even though you snook through he still took it. He said there was something slowing his car down (5kg of mud ??) toward the end of the race because he was surprised anyone was catching him! Nail biter!! haha You drove well though to catch the pricemaster

i loved the rain ok the cars where coverd in mud and it was bitch to clean them but the track was good in the wet i thought in fact i loved the wet better than the dry and i did almost bugger all 4wd racing.

well done to the oz wizzards they did a good job on the track

I was at drivers briefing both days, but my understanding was that all finals would be canceled before starting them if the weather was bad.

Having started them the ones that completed must surely stand, why would they not? They happened, the days racing was completed and results achieved, I very much doubt that anyone in a ‘higher’ final is going to be annoyed at having to have their results as they qualified, they don’t lose anything and don’t gain anything, however finals that were run now potentially lose out.

It’s a ridiculous decision, where in any sport do you ever see a final result being ‘revoked’?

I shall be proposing a new rule, bit of a shocker I sure as it will be a sensible one.

According to the time sheet I was running a second a lap faster every lap other than the first one, one more lap and it would have been mine! Was ace fun, my best 'moment' in racing so far, just need to buy the BRCA a dictionary so they can look up the definition of the word FINAL and it will be happy days. :D

jimmy 16-07-2007 04:17 PM

You must have had a pretty terrible first lap then!

jimmy 16-07-2007 04:28 PM

Thoroughly bummed! You looked good tho, I mean your car, not you :D

emzy 16-07-2007 04:31 PM

But don't you think Bathy himself looked good too?!

I still can't believe round 2... 10 or however many laps in 316.66... both me AND Bathy. If you look at the end of round, we both got 77th for that round...!
