I for one don't mind waiting for the kit, i'd rather the thing was right first time than it be rushed into production only to have to start spending more and more on different parts to make it work how you want. I say well done to cml for taking the time to get it right :thumbsup:well done guys.

Does anyone know if AE themselves had/have any input into this project themselves? There are quite a few "chats" about the possibility of a B5,but would they bother now?

I doubt the c4.1 will have any influence on the B5 - it'll likely still be rear-motor (though possibly not exclusively), as it will be developed for US tracks. I suspect a B4.2 is more likely, AE being a company that avoids change for change's sake.

Now more details are avalaible can the parts numbers be confirmed of what is need to convert a B4 not B4.1

Ive heard mentioned its the gearbox bearings??

I know the shocks are not v2 etc but jus want to know the exact parts that will be needed.

stegger 21-09-2011 10:35 PM

From what i've been told a B4.1 diff is needed due to the bearing size  I maybe wrong.

B4.1 outdrives and outer bearings, the rest of the diff is the same

I notice on the new c4.1 set-up sheet there is no space for rear toe block, only outside wheel toe. Is that because the toe adjustment is just done using the hub or will the rear toe block get mentioned somewhere else?

KRob 22-09-2011 02:46 PM

There is only one rear block so there won't be the option to change it.
Further down the line that could happen but all the team exclusively use the standard geometry inboard toe-in that will come with the conversion.

For those who have been chomping at the bit.... the very first few parts arrived here into stock with us today.

The first spare as such is the Carbon rear shock tower, theese are now here and in stock and also the eageraly awaited bodyshells. Supplied as body and wing for £19.99 for all those who want their colours pre-painted before the kits arrive......

www.dms-racing.com just type "centro" in our search to see it all.....

blue_pinky 28-09-2011 02:25 PM

So the shell...is it the S2 shell the prototypes were using? Or is it a new design?

If it's the S2 one, has it now got cut lines for the spur cover that was being run?

Getting excited now

footey 28-09-2011 02:40 PM

if it is the s2 shell i know atomic carbon have them in stock at a veryyyy good price

Darren Boyle 28-09-2011 02:58 PM

I have never had the priviledge of having an S2 in my hands and looking at the body that closely, but (unless there are a few small revisions/bumps/vents etc) that have changed it looks VERY similair to the bodies the team guys have been using to me (although we were told they would be different)

No markings that I can see for any gear cover etc......

Maybe someone from CML can clarify (Keith??).........

blue_pinky 28-09-2011 03:37 PM

Cheers Darren, probably is the S2 shell then...some extra cut lines would be handy if it does need the cutout, but either way...I love the S2 shell anyway, so would be chuffed if it was!!!

And if they do release a new one I only hope it retains some of the S2 look about it...one of the best RC shells ever I reckon...looks like it's going about 100mph even when it's sat on your bench!!!

Might even make me look quick!! :woot:

Richard Lowe 28-09-2011 04:12 PM

As far as I know...

The first shells are the S2 shell we've been running, their arn't any cut lines for the gear cover so you have to do that bit... Also the lower cut line is a bit too high to go all the way down to the chassis, so when you cut the shell out initially leave plenty of extra down there and trim it to length once it's mounted.

http://www.nortechracing.com/ac/store.html link to atomic s2 shells
