i hope it isn't that high, but we will still have one,but thats still cheaper than the current mid motored car out there,if you buy new.

Welshy40 31-01-2010 06:05 PM

Lets hope they go lower than associated and losi as after all there is no import duty seeing as they are in the uk, so should be a lot cheaper. If not then they wont be getting my business.

Indeed, but that's part of making a profit and getting the product costs right.

I'll be getting one, so B4 may become avaliable fairly soon. Bought it off the Williams' for Petit and that's it.

If the car works straight out of the box surely even the£299 price ain't bad. My x6 cost me far more and even my mates B4 with all the brass bulkheads and batt straps would be more! I am going to buy the cougar but just hope it doesn't need another small fortune in extras to have it as you need it!

If the price is right i might be temted to give Electric 1/10th off road another go.:p

Considering that the Losi and Associated kits and cars are mass produced in China and the 4% duty paid on them is based on the price the distributor pays to the factory, not the retail or shop price, I would be surprised if Schumacher could get anywhere near the same price as the only advantage they have is that they don't have to be shipped over here.

£280

Don't know where they got the price from, unless it's a guess etc.

DCM 01-02-2010 06:48 PM

:( out of my price range... will have to wait for the budget version!!

mikeyscott 01-02-2010 06:52 PM

I can't see how they can price it when it hasn't officially been released.

Either way that's bloody expensive, so I hope they are very wrong.

I'll have to sell my B4 and few XXs, BMAX-4

pizzaman 01-02-2010 07:35 PM

one of the big cheeses of schumacher was asked at worksop and his answer was £260 but even he said that wasnt a certanty as only them upstairs will know for now the price so i cant see how any model shop can price it..
come on schumacher get it below £250
I TELL YA WOT I WANT, WOT I REALLY REALLY WANT!!! A COUGAR SV

mikeyscott 01-02-2010 07:41 PM

That's still quite dear. However if that is the case the £240 at your local model shop. Which isn't too bad

saw a xxx go for £50 recently so add £200 for the CR2 and we are around the £250+ mark.

They will give a refund if it's cheaper.

I saw that too. I won't pre-order until I know the price so I can raise funds for it.

Will be ordering a new Speed Passion V3 8.5 with it at the same time.

Paid £240 for my Associated RC10 B4 TEAM when they first came out, then the Factory Team came out a few years later and was actually cheaper.....

Can't believe the amount of speculation & whinging about the price of a car that's unique, an entire kit not a conversion, and not even out yet!!! An extra £20 is insignificant compared to the cost of a years worth of racing, what with all the wheels, foams & tyres, professionally sprayed bodies, buying all those upgrades that don't make the car any better but look sooo nice...

This isn't quite true, as it is different, £20 here, £30 there, than £189 for a B4 and £250 for the SV, as much as it is unique, it is still a KIT, and I am sure that the reason Losi never really got a hold, was the extra cost over the AE...

I disagree. There is no other mid motored kit avaliable for £250
You have to pay much more than that to have a mid motored car new!!!
The XXX CR didn't perform well in the UK, if it had you would still see loads of them about.
If the Cougar is good straight out the box, £250 will seem a bargain!!!

MattW 01-02-2010 09:10 PM

No, the main reason Losi "never really got hold" was the small fact that the B4 was faster. Simples!

I genuinely don't know what the price is likely to be, haven't asked the question. Everyone just needs to wait and see what the price is.

Let's not forget, a lot also depends on what the kit spec is - although again I don't know! Although, I don't think it's massively unreasonable to look at the Cat spec and assume that it is likely to be along a similar level - so we're talking Titanium Turnbuckles, Ceramic diff balls, carbon etc etc. So at the very least you have to look at FT Spec B4's before you start to compare.

I think GPS's point is also very valid - that was the price of the std B4 when it first came out, and as the product has matured, so it's price has dropped.
