Second half of the year a diff, first half a one way but that was only until we took some of the steering off the car. Ive ran a diff everywhere since the Euros, but did put a one way in at Southport due to the concrete corner and big sweeper at the end of the straight.

Chris, make sure the circlip is seated correctly and the right way around (step 11 B ) in the manual;);)

Hi there,

I forgot one thing...

For who already received the car : are the different plastic pinions (for adjusting the ratio) included in the kit or only one couple?...which ones?

Thanks a lot
Jean-Christophe

Has anybody managed to fit saddle packs in their Lipo cat?

I knew I had a good dirt setup lol

Is yours the box stock build setup????

My only difference is I used 35WT in all 4 corners, which i'm going to bump up to 40 in the front and 45 in the rear and I put the shocks in the middle holes on all 4 corners.

Shawn laid all his shocks down and was not impressed, he said the car felt real lazy.

My next move is the med flex arms in all 4 corners and the alloy upper diff mounts.

Hopefully my lipo Version Cat SX should be with me on Thursday.
If Lipo's are not allowed to be used at next years Nationals, How much work/parts is it to change to the 4/2 chassis.

MattW 20-09-2008 04:13 PM

Chassis and Battery straps/posts.

James 20-09-2008 04:35 PM

And moving the servo back - ie replacing the purple spacers with 4mm washers..

James 20-09-2008 04:39 PM

Mine are the setups provided in the back of the manual. I ran that clay setup at the Euros, the car was dialled.

The car went together like a dream

No window masks for the shell though :eh?:

Regarding the notchy diff, the manual says to fully tighten the diff then back it off, but don't do this - as for me it dented the diff plates with the balls and went notchy. Turn the plates over and try again!

I tighten and check for it slipping once in the car - both of my diffs have been fine at the first meeting like this, infact - they don't slip atall, I reckon I'll pull a tyre off before the diff slips. LOL.

Servo Saver?

The car doesn't include a servo saver! Do the team drivers have any comments i.e. any blown servos or are they using servo savers. I am a little worried as I am used to using Servo Savers....

I had steering issues at the F3's but it was a first, other team drivers haven't had a problem in testing and racing the car.
I missed leg 1 due to stripping the gears but leg 2 to be fair was due to me not fitting the horn correctly and was inexperience on my part.
The servo I was running was several years old and had plastic gears so I would recomend for you to use one with metel gears or for you to fit a kimbrough servo saver, they are only a few pounds. Although in future I will be running both to be super safe... hope this helps :)

I don't run a servo saver, and haven't for years - on the X-5 (XX4), X-6 (B4) - glued it up, and same on SX. Just set the end points on tranny so there is no strain on the servo, and it is fine.

No dead servos here.......Running KO 2173 and 2413 servos during the year. Both are indeed metal geared.

If you raelly want to run a saver, then i guess there may be some on the market that are up to the job, but i'm not a fan of them!!
