Just finished my first attempt at a 1/5 scale shell. Took FOREVER!!!
1/10 in the foreground for scale... ;-) |
Nice paint on that 5th scale, I remember the first time I painted one I totally under estimated how much paint I needed.
|
Cheers,
yep those big 'ol girls certainly guzzle the paint! |

Gettin' lairy with this euro stylee... ;-)
|
That is superb!! Love the colours!
|
Cheers, glad you like it!

What paint did you use for the silver?
|
Hi, the silver is a bit of a hybrid. I dusted some Auto Air Coarse Aluminium Base in first, then finished off with Faskolor Pearl Silver - then backed with black. Hope that helps?

KF and K1 Aero shells for Mitch Fiddling, fellow Louth RCCC member, in his signature scheme. No frills, just clean and bright... Mind you the Auto Air Fuschia for the pink shading gave me fits. Note to self:- 7 year old, half used bottles of paint to be binned in future... ;-)
|
Cheers J, there great! Just need a tourer now!

1/10 tourer for fellow louth racer Simon Babb, to match his 1/5 scaler completed recently...
|
:o Lovely!!! One of the best paint scheme's i've seen!
|
Cheers,
the design is based on an ETS racer's that I saw online a while back. Time to 'retire' it though - everyone that comes to me for paint at our club wants a variation of it, and I'm getting bored of painting it - and it takes hours too !!!! regards J |

Cheers Fella. Some of the detail is a bit dark - but so difficult to judge until the red went on!
|

New buggy shell for a mate's much treasured vintage ride!
|
Orange highlight fade up to the drip ends looks cool, sets it off (:
|
Cheers bud, wish I'd made the silver pinstripe around the drips a bit thinner. Looks a bit clunky in places

Cheers for the pic, maxed out at the moment bud. I imagine you've given one or two of the other painters a nudge anyway. Hopefully one of 'em can help you out. Cheers J

JOO
HI. DONT NEED THEM DOING IN A RUSH . SO WHEN YOUR ALITTLE LIGHT LET ME KNOW .
THANKS MIKE P.S WHAT PAINT DO YOU USE |
Okeydokey Mike, will drop you a line when I've got a few out of the way!
I tend to stick to Faskolor paint, or Auto Air - although the Auto Air really needs reducing quite a bit first. cheers J |
