Real improvement shown with these two, there looking great,

I especially like the dr upgrade one, clean simple, good choice of colours, and very well painted. Definately one of your best yet in my opinion, super work Chef

keep it up.

eyeayen 04-02-2012 01:03 PM

It's obvious you're getting more confident with your masking and your airbrush dude, shells look better, as UPD says these are your best to date and I have to agree with him that the Dr shell is the best out of these 2. Colours look good, design is nice, well executed.

Keep it up

Steveonamission 04-02-2012 01:31 PM

Agreed, flicking through your work, the Dr Shell is a great step forward for you, looks really nice, must be pleased with that, think anyone would be.

The Chef 04-02-2012 01:35 PM

Thank you all very much. I seemed to have a revelation this week where I got the hang of it a little more, can't quite put my finger on it but it all seemed to come a little easier if you know what I mean.:woot:

bigred5765 04-02-2012 01:57 PM

loving the first one mate
bice work

eyeayen 04-02-2012 03:42 PM

It is super cool when it all comes together dude ! A nice feeling that you know you're getting some where. Maybe just because you've had a break or weren't so stressed doing this one ? Any number of things ?

You'll keep improving too and look back at these in a year and laugh, it always happens. When you do something at that point in time it seems the best, if you see that shell a year later it never looks as good

Keep it going though mate you're doing real well. It's gonna be a laugh at TORCH if I ever manage to get myself a tenth and I'm up and running, there are gonna be about 4 painters there aren't there ? You, ASKay, Mr Magoo and me, I think that's everyone or is there a fifth ? There can't be that many other clubs with that many painters ?

Dr_UpGrade 04-02-2012 04:00 PM

Chef, REALLY like these.. :woot: and can't wait to see them in the flesh. Really apprecaite the effort you've gone to for these! Thanks...

Mark

I can't think of any more painters. I can't wait to get back outside racing I've had enough of the small indoor tracks. I like being outside especially when it is sunny.

Been at it again. Painted a shell for fun/practice and put it on Ebay and it sold and was asked to match a truggy shell to it. Here we go!

jonmiller 23-02-2012 11:35 PM

Nice1 Kristan. Good to see you adding some depth to the stencil skull and that yer managing to make some time to paint

eyeayen 24-02-2012 10:22 AM

So much detail !

Fav bit - pink pin stripes, sets everything else off perfectly, very good mate, looks like you're improving with each one !

gainsy 24-02-2012 10:48 AM

Excellent work
Looks like you have put all the best bits from previous shells & combined them into these great shells :D

The Chef 27-02-2012 07:13 PM

Thank you guys I'm in enjoying it more with each one. Confidence and understanding the paint and pressures with each shell make it more enjoyable and I think that is coming through in the end result.
👍

slipknot666 12-03-2012 08:39 PM

eyeayen 17-04-2012 02:50 PM

I'm not sure at the minute mate, I was going to come and watch but now I don't think it's as likely...

The Chef 19-04-2012 11:48 AM

That's a shame. I need a week off to catch up with all my painting.

The Chef 24-04-2012 10:19 PM

coleman758 28-04-2012 06:10 PM

I like your paint man!

The only thing I would say, use less "Techniques"
Per shell, Simple always looks better!

When I was in Uni first thing we was taugh:

KISS... Keep it Simple Stupid!

eyeayen 28-04-2012 06:33 PM

Looking good dude.

I've got to agree with the above comment to an extent but your work has got simpler since you started and as you know I think it looks better for it. That said sometimes it's not the painter, some customers do want everything and won't be told in which case as it's our job we just have to do.

Keep up the god work fella, hope you're getting through them all okay :)

The Chef 28-04-2012 06:40 PM

Yes I'm getting through the back log. The wife is moaning work all day and paint nearly every night. No Internet at the makes uploading tricky but greatful to happy customers for the piccys. One more to do tonight. Then the back log is done and I can do a couple for myself.

U1timate PigDog 29-04-2012 06:43 PM

+1 on the above, but this is clearly a nicely done body, the colours I really like and the design is good too, keep up the good work!!

The Chef 11-05-2012 11:55 AM

My new colours.
