Think you might see something wilder than a cat. Fribbs do you have any spare saddle packs just in case I dont get mine in time

mikeyscott 15-10-2009 07:44 AM

Weather is looking ok and numbers are looking good for this weekend :)

I'll bring my XXCR, but going to be running the Cat :)

I have many NiMh saddle packs but am not sure if the join in the center of the packs is big enough for them to fit into the B44. I am not sure if the Lipo saddle packs I have are too light and the NiMh packs will help keep the back down. I will have everything including the kitchen sink as usual

mikeyscott 15-10-2009 08:20 AM

What are you going to be running?

AmiSMB 15-10-2009 08:27 AM

You will have to wait and see :)

wylie 15-10-2009 05:00 PM

can i tell

mikeyscott 15-10-2009 05:14 PM

I'd be looking at Cat SX, Tamiya 511, B44. Durango is still too new for me, but does look awesome.

Otherwise I'd sit on the fence until the new outdoor season

Elliott Hopkins 15-10-2009 07:02 PM

Hey lads, do you race through the winter? I've been meaning to come over and the 'big' car will be out the garage in a couple of weeks.

Elliott.

dibble34 15-10-2009 07:17 PM

Yep, every Sunday all year round. Only reason it cancels is due to very wet conditions. Have raced there in frost before!

Elliott Hopkins 15-10-2009 07:20 PM

Awesome.

mikeyscott 15-10-2009 11:14 PM

Another new member ;)

What will you be running?

Wonder what the numbers will be like this weekend. Weather is looking good, just a lot cooler.

mikeyscott 18-10-2009 01:54 PM

Another good days racing, fingers crossed the club go for the AMB system on offer at the moment.

Elliott Hopkins 18-10-2009 05:18 PM

When I get my finger out I'll be running a BJ4WE.

A couple of weeks. The batteries are looking a little bit weak however.

mikeyscott 18-10-2009 05:21 PM

Cool. Fingers crossed for an AMB by then. I am not racing for a few weeks now :(

wedding stuff....

AmiSMB 18-10-2009 05:26 PM

Sorry I could not get there today but something came up at home :( I am away for the next two weekends so hopefully will be up there after that. Hope the AMB system goes ahead as that will make it so much better.

Elliott Hopkins 18-10-2009 07:24 PM

I'd better check, how is the track access for classic Minis? No crazy sleeping policemen or potholes?

Will I make it down there without beaching the car?:D

mikeyscott 18-10-2009 07:35 PM

Just got word that we have an AMB system on it's way and it'll take PTs. Woo hoo..

Time to find a AMB transponder and a MRT for the 2nd car :)

dibble34 18-10-2009 07:37 PM

Tell me more mate, is the new one or an AMB20 etc

AMB RC.

I got sent a link from RaceChat in the week, replied to it and forward it to Jules resulting in first refusal. It's cost a fair amount so there was a lengthy debate this morning. 3 heats today with dedicated 2WD and 4WD. Had a good day with some old faces back. (Phill Moggy running a B44 give him a bit and he'll be on Steve's tail)

I had a text from the guy selling saying Jules has gone for it. Wicked!!

Downer is I'm not racing till the 7th due to wedding venue hunting :(

Gives me time to source an AMB PT though :)

There was a mini there last week I think (old one) don't know whos it is. My Leon Cupra grounds out if you head down the left side of the track.

dibble34 18-10-2009 07:51 PM

so is that the new one. how many transponders do we get?

AMBrc system

5 PTs. Downside is people need to source their own.

Heard MRTs are cheap.

Quite a few of the new people havwe their own PTs

jkonline 19-10-2009 07:21 AM

I read that all MRT's are cloned from AMB transponders so can have number clashes although they do have a system to switch to one of 20 other pre-set numbers if there is a clash.

Does anyone know anything about this and is it a problem?

Great, now people are botting for this title. Means my efforts of actually working for it were in vain.

Very occasional clashes with the MRTs, but just switch to another number and all is fine. Full instructions come with them, not an issue.

Great to hear AMB is on it's way, even more reason for me to come over to take a look too.

saintnitro 19-10-2009 09:21 AM

Hi,

You ran the madrat didn't you? Sorry I didn't come down and see you, but an observation from marshalling your race you need to wind the slipper out a bit, it should make it easier to drive.. Just not too much otherwise you'll cook something like I did in my Cat :(

Once I sorted that out it was all good and a fantastic final run.

How many people here have a PT?

Think 2010 will be the rear TORCH gets on the map :)

Cheers,

Mike

saintnitro 19-10-2009 10:04 AM

hi mate yeah i was running the madrat. the slipper was right out if i undone it anymore the nut would of fallen of:woot: early in the morning when the track was slippy i changed tyers and it worked a treat but i left them on for one more heat then needed, as the dryed out and i was gripping everywhere its just my driving thats letting me down:p

the good thing is that i'm constent(sorry cant spell) 9 laps every time with roughly the same times. so i just got to push myself and tiedy up my driving:woot:

Ginge

mikeyscott 19-10-2009 10:22 AM

Ok cool.

Yup half the battle, car set-up and then being able to drive the damn thing

Randall34 20-10-2009 05:00 PM

Hi All,
I have been talking to mickeyscott about your club, I used to be a member of TORCH back in the day. I live in London and race at EPR when i can, but had no idea that Titchfield was still going and that its growing again too. This has spurred me on to want to come and race with the old crew, although i'm not sure if any of them are still there. My age group is the same as Dan Brown, and his brother Steven. I first raced at Titchfield community centre in 1988 and then at Catisfield village hall then on to the garden centre at segensworth where i stopped racing in 1999/2000. That little club was a great bunch of people who just wanted to race and have fun, even if it started raining. I hope that the club is still thriving and that the winter doesn't dwindle the numbers too much. I would really love to come down and race one morning, my folks still live in Locks Heath so i can drop off the kids there and come and have some fun.
I have a X-6 with a 9t brushless motor, with LiPo. I gather you have a AMB timing system so i will try and get a transponder too.
Hope to see you all soon.
Cheers
Neil Randall

Randall34 20-10-2009 05:02 PM

P.S. What tyres and gearing do you guys run?

Captain-Codpiece-The-2nd 20-10-2009 07:58 PM

Go

I only run there once in a blue moon when I am down south, but I also run an X6. I have a 6.5 brushless, with 78/23 and it seems to be ok. Only real difference I make when I race there is lighter oil in shocks. Tyre wise I run staggered ribs up front and schumacher yellow mini spikes on the rear. What weight are running yours at?
