Ran mine for a full session today at Formby and I was very pleased with the results. (3k oil on medium grip carpet was just about right). Mine started stiff (oooerrr missus!!!) but now it's as mooth as silk.

This is the best my car has felt and I for one won't be going back to a balled diff.

I ran the gear diff at Silverstone this weekend. Ended up on 7k but I think i've built something wrong as the car had no rear end at all. Was awefull to drive.

So now a few people have done some running with the gear diff are they loosening up a bit now??

Any oil set ups for carpet for the diff??

looking at what most others are running, i can only think that you have gone too thick on the oil - most others are running around the 3k mark.

ran mine at leominster on carpet friday night with 3k in the diff.

instantly the car had a loose back end, but was running worn tyres. so I glued on some new pins and tried again. a lot better and balanced now.

Car seems to push like crazy exiting corners so I'll be working on curing that next meeting. Might drop the oil to 1k for next time.

The launch at the start of the final was ballistic :D

Possibly yes. I'm going to go back to the ball diff and set the car with that, then look at moving to the gear diff. Its different teritory to me so I am best to look at basics first.

Don't think its a bad product though, just not for me at this time.

So are the tight spots going after a few packs??

Are you running with out any shims??

Tight spots almost gone after 30 min running. I'm using one bronze shim either side.

Durango e said not to use any of the gold shims with the gear diff

I found that there was a minute element of movement with no shims.

i tried the gear diff at taplow on sunday, a couple of runs and it smoothed out in the gearbox

it wasn't my cup of tea though i had nothing on the smooth wood corners compared to the ball diff. the back end would just step out on me unless i crawled round there.

i ran 3k do i go higher or lower this is verging undrivable :thumbdown:

I also ran my gear diff in at the Winter Open, after 2 or 3 runs the tight spot disappeared. I was generally happy with the feel of the car with the gear diff although i struggled with the car snaking badly under acceleration. I managed to fix this in the final. Taking inspiration from Mr Doughty's (I love him now :woot:) Worksop setup I went up by 5 weight oil (from 30 to 35) and then went down two spring rates (from Dark Green to Light Blue). The car didnt feel as loose and the power was much easier to put down, indeed I found approx 3/4 a second on my quickest lap. The other thing I tried was the slipper setting, I found that I needed to run the car with the slipper approx a turn to 1.5 turn looser than on the ball diff ( this is with 5k diff oil). I think with better tires this would have been an optimum setup

smokedsalmonkid, sounds like you had the same experience that I had. From reading, everyone said go down the oils to me, which is the oposite to what I thought I should do.

It seems that the gear diff is available again, at least here in germany.
The durango site still not showing any stock but I should have mine on monday.

Going to report if it's the real 210 gear diff :P

Mine seems to be binding and not spinning freely in the house, in turn bumping up the motor temps which is not good.

Think it matters what way it sits in the housing?

Where did you order it from in Germany?
