Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away the first drivers to get the XLS chassis for the CAT had to use a bodyshell created by cutting 2 SWB shells up and sticking them together with servotape...

We are working hard as a team to develop the car quickly to make sure we can get it out to the general public. I know that myself and the other A team guys are testing every week to make changes/improvements to the car ready for general release.

Im sure you all want the car to be right straight away.

Any more updates on the SX3, I see Custom Blitz has done some more team shells etc.

Look forward to the report from RHR..

Robocop 07-05-2011 12:10 AM

Just wondering what height lipos fit?

john333 07-05-2011 10:28 AM

any height will fit I believe, as they aren't having to fit under the pulley at the front like the SX2

Cockerill 09-05-2011 10:17 AM

Theoretically any height could fit, but you'll have problems fitting things under the shell. The car is designed to take the maximum height specified by the BRCA/EFRA Regulations

mikeyscott 12-05-2011 10:02 AM

How did the team get on at RHR with the car?

Just had a look through the parts listing & added up what I think you'd need to convert a Cat SX2 to SX3 (with a S1 chassis/top deck)....

£246:woot:

CF would be closer to £300:lol:

If the old rear trans housings could be modified to fit then that would be £210 for S1...

One things for sure, its not worth doing either way

stegger 19-05-2011 07:07 PM

On the SXII how well did the pastic suspension holders and steering arms hold up compared to the original alloy versions on the SX ? And people with the SXII did you convert anyway for more durability ?

lochness42 19-05-2011 07:14 PM

Hi Stegger
I've started last season with SX2 with stock plastic holders. Ran it in the front with your brace - that held just fine. I broke in about 3-4 races 2 rear blocks but it was bad landing really. If you want to be on safe side - alloy holders are way to go. You can still run plastic ones but have pack or two of spare and run your brace in front and it's doable just fine :D
