Spares backup is already in place, and are also very cheap too.

at 50 notes, just buy another car for spares.

Si Coe 07-06-2009 10:38 PM

I was talking about this today after looking over that Pro X (a very tidy looking car too), and I reckon Ansmann need to do one more thing to really upset the apple cart and seriously open up 10th offroad to newcomers. That is to offer another version of the RTR Madrat, this time with a brushless system (I suggest a copy of the 9t 35A Ezrun as this is fast, simple, robust and very cheap) in a whole package for not much over £150. Or more specifically a club level competitive car available RTR for less than a B4FT kit costs.
Do that and you are looking at the next Topcat/Cougar - Old timers will remember the days when Schumacher cars dominated 2wd not because they were better than the American Rc10s or Jrx's (they weren't) but because they were half the price!

stox217 08-06-2009 08:52 PM

will hopefully be getting the basic version the £50 job
Anybody else had one yet?

budgio 09-06-2009 05:13 PM

Just received mine will put some pics up later.
The kit does not come prebuilt which is good :D but is not fully ballraced as advertised.:(
Shocks are prebuilt and black(not green)plastic, just like the standard tamiya kit shocks
But it DOES include cvd,s which look to be of decent quality.
Includes tyres too

Whats an la218? Is it a part in the kit that's not mentioned in the manual? Also, will regular Tamiya bearings fit the hubs?

GRIFF55 09-06-2009 06:37 PM

for 50 notes, thats amazing!!! I even like the shell. tempting for club as i have some spare ae shocks:D How much would the bearing set cost?????

TRIOXER 09-06-2009 06:55 PM

La 218 is a kyosho part number for the wheel hexes as he found with the kit ones, when the wheel was in place and the wheel nut was tightened it would not spin freely as it was binding on the bearing.

No as the pin is there and when you take that out the wheel will go that far on that you wont be able to tighten the nut far enough down for it to grab the wheel if you know what i mean (I THINK!) , the short answer is someone try it , but your better off using kyosho wheels or ansmann

budgio 09-06-2009 08:10 PM

Be careful opening the plastic bags as the diff balls dont come in a sealed bag..... i,m one missing on my diff build :( hey ho cant complain.
upto now i,m dead impressed and for £47.99 its a no brainer

DCM 09-06-2009 08:11 PM

you can't use B4 front wheels, although whether you could transplant the steering arm off a B4 in to the Pro-X caster blocks??

I just been whizzing mine about, outside, woop

budgio 09-06-2009 08:51 PM
