It was ten days between the email about the new venue and me cancelling...

Should have done it ages ago? How???? I didn't know the venue was going to change FFS!

bodgit 03-11-2011 05:33 PM

So if the fee,s are not being refunded who's pocket are they ending up in ??????

I said this before that there shouldn't be a problem in other clubs putting on events when there are big meetings elsewhere as that gives people the choice where to go. If like some of us we want to compete with the best then we go there - if some feel they don't want to do that then go elsewhere - Let the drivers decide - simples! :)

Your right other clubs should be able to put on other meetings. But this meeting was born to go directly against Petit almost like Silverstone were gonna show Nicolas for moving to Ardent. Seems very unfriendly to me.

Also you say no one is to know what was said, Paul has quoted that Petit moved the meeting 2 hours before the new venue was announced! Also Nicolas said he was told the venue was gonna be 6k. There has been a lot said.

I have watched this thread all the way through from "Whos going" and "cant wait for this one" and now it has ended up with a lot of people slagging Nicolas off when I cant really see what he has done wrong! And yes don't throw the he changed the refund date and this is so wrong, I even read one guy said he was going to confront Nicolas on the day! Yes I agree this is wrong for him to move the refund date, but he may have a good reason for this. Don't you think we should give him a chance to reply? After all he is the one that tried to put a meeting on and had MA drop him in it and Silverstone now going head to head with him.

Silverstone organised the weekend designed FOR the Petit Dave, not to go against it. they couldnt go against it, there was no other planned event to go against. you dont seem to get it!

Like Paul said drivers can have the choice like we always do

Adam F 03-11-2011 06:27 PM

I even read one guy said he was going to confront Nicolas on the day!

For the record I have no agenda with Mr Petit, but this changing dates is just plain wrong...

I believe its me that you are mis-quoting.... I feel I am quite within my rights to discuss this late change with the organiser..

Why should they hold onto my money when I played by the rules?

tellor 03-11-2011 06:36 PM

thats why i didn't enter, you can't trust the french, even if they pretend to be belgian

So if you are going to discuss this with Nicolas on the day you might as well race as your already there!!! Therefore no refund needed, problem solved:p

I think to show the support for Nicolas and the amount of hard work he puts into the " show " we should start a list either on this thread or start a completely new one entitled..

" The Petit 2013 The ultimate Euro Tour! "

What do we think? lets make this the biggest indoor offroad event ever! European and world class drivers... Scotty Ernst.. BBK Rob...

I have the venue more than capable of hosting such an event!

If we start planning now...secure the venue ( :woot: ) it would be the business!

We can then leave the bury forum (sorry chaps!) of the south alone..:woot:

:p

Does this mean those of us that paid full price will be getting the difference refunded?! Seems a bit unfair on those that got everything sorted out early :(

Steve.T 24-11-2011 08:14 PM

Agreed

The Chef 25-11-2011 12:13 AM

Any Idea when the driver list will be updated? I would be nice to find out who is still going:thumbsup:

Does anyone know if the track will be open for practice on Thursday and Firday as it was last year?

andy110m 30-11-2011 10:34 AM

Tyres

I've just entered the Petit race, should be a great meeting.

Normally indoor on carpet I'd be running the yellow Mini Pin but I notice the controlled tyre brand is Dboots. I don't have any experience with those so could anyone offer any advice as which is the best tyre and compound to run for 2 and 4wd?

Thanks.

A tyre we have been working on specifically for the Euro indoor scene. The tyre has proved really good in testing. They've been run on numerous tracks on the Prima Felt GT carpet. Those who have seen them know how good they are.

As confirmed the control tyre are the dBoots Nanobyte tyre.

andy110m 30-11-2011 11:44 AM

Ok cool, thanks. I thought I'd seen on the Petit site something about an open choice of the range, but I am mistaken.

I assume there's also a controlled compound then?

Thanks very much.

Hulk 30-11-2011 11:50 AM

Copied from the Petit website:

Tyres : ONLY Dboots tyres (front & rear) - Nanobyte tyres recommended

So yes it would appear you can use any dBoots tyre.

dBoots tyres can be bought from www.rcdisco.com or you local model shop.

I dont think the Nanobyte tyre's are on sale yet, but would imagine something will be announced asap and they should be available on the day.

pugs 30-11-2011 11:26 PM

andy110m 05-12-2011 08:45 PM

Hi All,

Really looking forward to this event. I'd just like some information about the tyres.

Is the Dboots control tyre only for the drive axle, so a free choice on 2wd front?

And the recommended tyre is the Nanobyte, when is that going to be in the shops, still no information on RC disco's website. It'd be nice to do some practice with this new tyre before the event.

Also is there a list of driver confirmed, I've noticed some drivers that are listed on the Petit site are also listed as attending Area 51?

Thanks.

sime46 18-12-2011 10:45 AM

Just entered this one. How/where do I pay?

andy110m 18-12-2011 05:43 PM

Anyone got any news on the tyres yet? When are they going to be here?

http://www.dboots.com/news/ seems you only need them on the driven wheels

I'm sorry to bang on about tyres but what dboots compound is everyone planning to get, I assume B?

I'm really suprised there isn't more discussion about this upcoming event

Steve.T 21-12-2011 09:58 PM

Whatever tyres you decide to use it cannot be nanobytes as I can't find them for sale anywhere
