I'm painting in the garage at the moment, I found myself using the Agama as a convient airbrush holder while I was drying the shell this week, that's not good is it. Like those ikea adverts, I really must tidy up !

Loving your colour combo's Chef.

Those flames in the purple are cool too !

The Chef 02-12-2011 12:41 AM

Thank you sir.

jonmiller 02-12-2011 10:43 AM

agreed

The Chef 02-12-2011 10:48 AM

Thank you Jon but I'm Still chasing those perfectly sharp crisp lines.

eyeayen 02-12-2011 11:01 AM

You look like you're doing okay to me.

Maybe you should do a more simple design, 3 colours with a different colour pinstripe to pick out the shapes, no fancy effects just colours, maybe a fade or 2, no stencils ? It might make things look cleaner ?

Concentrate on the shape of the design rather than the effects within it. See if that changes things ?

I like your designs because you have so much going on but at the same time I think if things are quite busy they're not as clear. It might not work at all, just a theory though, you won't know unless you try.

jonmiller 02-12-2011 11:23 AM

aye, have a go at simplifying things. try laying your paint thinner and making sure it is properly heat set in order to crisp up some of the lines

The Chef 30-12-2011 02:17 AM

One from tonight, had an issue with the dark area ment to be dots as requested and seemed to attract paint via static so had to get a little creative to cover it up:cry: I quite like it though looks super clean up front and like a scared fighter at the rear.:D

U1timate PigDog 30-12-2011 09:31 AM

That looks a lot cleaner, I like the effects you have done and they work well with the design.

I like the way it doesn't look like you've used a stencil on the red and it blends well into the body. Nice touches and Good work you should very pleased with that.

neil_p 30-12-2011 10:20 AM

Looks awesome mate!

eyeayen 30-12-2011 10:27 AM

YOUR BEST ONE YET Chef !!!

Really impressed, you've nailed this perfectly. Good balance of colours, well executed, looks fantastic ! Your stuff is quite busy normally but this is much crisper and cleaner looking, it works better because of that.

Come on then, where's your 8th shell... :D

jonmiller 30-12-2011 10:27 AM

looks well dude!

one word for your troubles though (well 3 if you want to be pedantic)

The Chef 30-12-2011 10:42 AM

Anti static?

Thank you for the kind words. Laid the paint a lot thinner and was a lot better to work with.

I'm really thinking out the MP9 Shell and waiting for my new Vega shell cos I'm going for a total new scheme for all 3 cars.

ejw 30-12-2011 10:59 AM

Looking great, love the effect on back of Durango!

The Chef 30-12-2011 11:19 AM

hotrodchris 30-12-2011 12:41 PM

Like the subtle skulls and flameouts Kristian almost makes me want to get my airbrush out again but why embarass myself with plain or 2 tone?

Dudders 30-12-2011 01:11 PM

Clean and crisp, nice bud

ASKay 30-12-2011 03:02 PM

The Chef 08-01-2012 01:10 AM

Very nice Kris!

(and well done on getting the 'exclusive' frog body! I liked that too when it was first shown on here...)

U1timate PigDog 08-01-2012 05:25 PM

My favourite is the body on the right, it looks nice and the flame just seems to flow nicer and brighter, to be honest I think its the window shape on the other putting me off, but good job on both.

eyeayen 08-01-2012 09:07 PM

Loads going on there dude, Mental design, loving the subtle shading to pull the tentacles apart so they look on top of each other, very cool !

The Chef 09-01-2012 09:37 PM

Thank you Ian. means alot I'm really pleased with how they turned out. I really need to just work on my knife skills Ironic as I've spent 19 years with a knife in my hand:woot:

The Chef 10-01-2012 10:41 PM

eyeayen 01-02-2012 06:27 PM

Lookin' good sir !

The slime is ace although I don't think the photo's are showing it off properly.

The Chef 03-02-2012 12:24 AM

Your right Ian the shell has a lot more depth in the flesh:thumbsup: It is very hard as you all know to get accurate photographs of these as they are hard to shoot due to their reflective properties.
