Anyone else's chassis not flat when it's all assembled?

Put a steel straight edge on mine and I can rock it front to rear by 1, 2mm. Did look at a few others and mine was not the worst but all chassis's were warpped.

So after stripping the car here's a short video of a warpped chassis. As you can see a not so flat SS chassis. Your supposed to race with this car. :o. Not impressed. This is from the 4c/1s kit and has done about 6 runs in practice not racing using 1s/13.5 to power it. Ruler is aprrox 1 to 1.5mm.

Put the chassis in the oven at 200c in the vain hope I may be able to flatten it. Not a chance. Nice and flexible when it came out. Put it between to plates of glass with heavy weight on it. Still has the same tweak in it. Bugger. No video this time as it'll only be a repeat

both of mine are fine!!

Hi,

Did you try contacting Schumacher regarding the warped Chassis to see if they know of the problem?

Whenever I have had problems with parts in the past (Not very often I must add) they have been great, and often sent out replacement parts.

I certainly found I got much more information and help as a result of speaking to them direct than I suspect I would have posting about it on a forum!!

May be worth thinking about.

Nope.

Bought unused from o0ple'r who had built it but it was unused.

matdodd 20-07-2012 08:30 PM

My chassis was fine and ive had a look at quite a few others that were built and unbuilt which were ok as well.
If you didn't build it, it's possible it got tweaked when it was built

I'd contact Schumacher and see what they say, I'm sure they will help if they can

can you run one saddle pack instead of a shorty lipo?

mark christopher 31-07-2012 07:03 AM

Have found that it you do not tighten the battery tray evenly or overtighten it the chassis can get a tweak which warps the chassis, so my eyes dodgy building

do you mean a saddle pack or one half of one?

if one half then yes but you'll need to find a way to stop it moving side to side when cornering

I'll mount the tray on the underside and see if it pulls it straight then before I rebuild the car.

Could anyone tell me if the body shell for the Schmacher Supastox would be able to fit onto a Tamiya RM-01 chassis?
Thanks in advance.

Given this has been resurrected - I have just painted my first shell. Leaked a little under the tape - and is it's a basher shell - I just used whatever I had to hand (in this case, automotive paint)

Oh and when I put the car down to get my phone, I then found the dog next to it!
