c you all next week

racingben 21-08-2011 07:52 PM

Just missed out on a trophy abut still had great fun. Got some ideas on making the monkey more consistent next time out but still managed my best time so far. Fantastic fun running so close at that pace with the other A frontrunners.

I thought an 11 lapper would be possible with the carisma if I did a grip roll free run. Didn't expect to get in the A final with it though! Mini pins are too grippy so will try rally blocks next time.

Thanks TORCH crew for running the day well. Great to see the juniors getting a go as well.

Would cutting a qually round be better than chopping finals?

The carisma is cool but shouldn't you run a 1/10 4wd buggy?

jpmatrix 21-08-2011 08:04 PM

A long day

Many thanks to all who organized todays meeting:thumbsup:

Really enjoyed the racing today, great weather and the track was excellent. Managed to clock up some consistent times and got my first 11 laps.

mikeyscott 21-08-2011 08:16 PM

I was disappointed with my pace but worked out first time back for eight weeks.

Those with MRT issues today could you contact MRT etc for clarification as I was a big headache for me. Have to say on face of it I,d only by AMB after this.

MrMagoo 21-08-2011 08:25 PM

I think this: http://www.team-mrt.com/rclaps/ptx-faq.htm is what people need to be reading in regards to MRT transponders. They are very common in the nitro world and as far as I'm aware have never been a problem.

MRT can't avoid clashing numbers, at least with AMB, as there's no central register. That's why they give you 20 numbers to choose from, if there's a clash you just change. Normal drill anywhere I've been is that the first person to sign in get's their first choice, if there's a clash after that it's down to the other driver to change and inform race control. It shouldn't be race controls problem IMO, they have enough to worry about... I've used BBK:lol:

M.Andrews 21-08-2011 08:26 PM

Great day today:thumbsup:. Late finish but wouldn't be right to only race 1 leg and A finalists run 3 legs, how about 2 leg finals for all finals?,or run 7 minute 2 final legs?.

Thanks John. Yup got a few errors to send back, more annoyingly is it writes squat to the event log areas :(

MrMagoo 21-08-2011 08:34 PM

Great, isn't it... one day I'll get my arse in gear and write something better. Probably best not to hold your breath though:lol:

Size doesn't matter  it's what you do with it that counts

Got a few code monkey mates too, he often likes a challenge. Debug challenge anyone? I can't code even if my life depended on it. Give me big servers, firewalls and so forth!

Dudders 21-08-2011 08:45 PM

Long day but a good day. Enjoy my trips to TORCH (perhaps it's as I'm not running a meeting) good racing (most of the time Deano :p :o) and great off track banter, help and social .

3 leg finals for all, deffo, 100%, if you want to cut time, drop the heats to just 3 rounds. Pukka.

Bit miffed that Harry's Jnr 2nd place pot is bigger than mine 2nd place one!, but it's the shelf you put them on the matters!!!:thumbsup:.

Looking to see lots of TORCH folk next week at SHRCCC :D

Sadly most of us Nitro boys are going to miss it as its the Proline 3 dayer at Slough. Should be fun for those that make it though, need some inter-club rivalry! Can't beat a bit of grass track action...

Good news, I have my green card from the wife for Sunday neil, so what the best time to arrive and what's the best tyres ?

Look forward to a great meeting,

Thanks for everyone's comments, sure we can still manage 3 leg finals, just had the odd set back of pt issues and slow turn around of heats.

So no real need to change current system, worse case Demerol loss a round of qualifying

But prefer how it is as generally value for money is great and everyone gets there fair share

Dudders 21-08-2011 09:04 PM

People use a mixture of Schu Yellow Mini Spikes, BB Pinks or Dboots

Tyres will be able to be purchased on the day

Have to agree with Chef I'm afarid. (What am I saying! :o)
It is supposed to be a 1/10 buggy formula.
Sorry bud.

+1

Much as it did look good and handled/kept up well, I was surprised to see it race in such a big meeting.

In a race for fun at a little club meeting with mates fine, but maybe not the Summer Series?

I guess TORCH's decision so good with me.

Robocop 21-08-2011 09:46 PM
