I thought they looked b/w,but put it down to the fact it was sooooo sunny and making the screen look odd!(maybe a mild sunstroke too, damn it was hot. :p)

It was a great weekend, even tho i never raced. No more pit bitch for me....next time i'm racing too! Some great racing and a hell of a laugh to boot.

The B4/SC8 battles were immense fun to watch. :D

What can I say, awesome meeting! Never before have I heard an A final rostrum laughing during racing, that just about sums it up. Thanks to everyone involved for putting it on. I will deffo be at the next one, I gotta beat that damn dremel

Personally im not fussed about tyres, I just think there should be clear 2wd and 4wd classes thats all.

Well done guys, lets push this awesoem class forward!

Let's not lose the impetus(sp?) and have another sc meeting asap and keep driving the class forward.

meeting was very cool,, so much fun!
i dont necessarily agree that we should run them on 8th tracks though ! i thought these are short course trucks not massive course truck lol
i thought the cov track was an ideal size for it ,not to big ( i think its a relatively small 8th track isn't it ? ) and plenty of laps! longer double legged finals are the future ( bumps ups would be ace too !! ) some tracks are just too big and with out shortening it would make the racing to far spread out and then the " close racing " that these trucks are designed for would be lost.
just my tupence worth,

Sounds like a good day was had by all... guuted I missed it but had the final round of the 2wd midwest regional to contend with...

I would definatley be another interested in running if you put another one / series on

Sorry to go off topic, but its sort of relevant... Guys FYI there is another Short course meeting happening in sept at Adur for those of you that are local to it or dont mind travelling...

Anyway back to topic...stick me down for the next one

Country size was bang on. I thought that was a big rally x track.
Another thought then 15 car heats reedy style so every run is a race. And drivers swap heats each run so all race each other at one point.

wezzer 27-07-2010 11:11 AM

mass starts, thats the answer.
nope thats a medium to small rally x track, think slough or somewhere like that is a lot bigger... could be mistaken though, not been down there for a while lol

Mark A 27-07-2010 11:57 AM

Coventry is a small to medium 1/8 track, we have worked hard to get the lap times up for Rally x and truggy but on the other hand it's not to big for short course, i really enjoyed the day racing and running the meeting.
Thanks for all the comments, lots of ideas to consider for next time, can only get better and still kept the fun element.

wezzer 27-07-2010 12:40 PM

i wasnt knocking it mark ;-) its a very cool track and absolutly awesome for short course, its very cool !!!!!!

mark christopher 27-07-2010 01:19 PM

And I was saying it was perfect I just could not spell coventry, I just figured coventry was a big track to the ones i been too LOL

RRCi.madpete 28-07-2010 08:45 AM

Ahhh! the old net v print debate!, I will be publishing a 6 page report in the October issue (out Sept!), but will in the mean time post a selection of the pics on here once i've a 5min window or 3!!

best regards as ever

mp

PS: looks like a 5 round RRCi series is a go...just need 1 track up north, one down south and 1 'other' venues in the middle of the UK...suggestions please! :)

It will start at Cov and Finish at Cov... you fancy that? :)

mark christopher 28-07-2010 09:24 AM

1rcdad 28-07-2010 09:40 AM

B4 Tyres on the dirt track ?

Hi all.
I'm a new member at Coventry but couldn't make it to the Short Course shootout, enjoyed reading the thread though.

I drive a B4 & have it relatively sorted for the astro with blue front springs, silver rear. Shuey yellow spikes rear, staggers on the front but I tested on the dirt track last night & it's all over the place, this was with dirt hawgs on the front & road hawgs on the rear.

I noticed on this thread someone ran a B4 at the weekend, any idea what tyres work on the dirt track.

I'm guessing I might need to loosen my slipper too & maybe softer springs ???

Rgds

_sleigh_ 28-07-2010 11:24 AM

I'd probably suggest trying some Pro-Line Bow-Ties on the rear with a rib up front. I'm not 100% familiar with the surface of the Coventry "dirt" track, as to how rutted/stoney it gets, but the above would be a good starting point.
