But..where are you guys getting the genuine XRAY servo savers?

http://www.teamxray.co.uk/productdet...382500-m18.php

They take a while to arrive but I've had a few from them and they always got to me :)

Jimmy, the LRP Shark is on another level, seriously!

I do agree that the JConcepts body is pretty trick though

I'll second that.

Somebody, think it was JT was telling me about another chassis, saying it could challenge the LRP shark - but i'll repeat what I said to him yesterday, that if another car was better or as good - then we'd know about it by now, be using it and it'd be winning.....

It'll take a lot for another chassis to beat the Shark. I got a feeling we're going to be using this car for a long long time....

and if Long says Long, that means Long! :woot:

Chrislong 03-11-2008 04:12 PM

Pmsl
Am I the definition of Long?

If by JT you are refering to Mini-JT, then it was probably either a Mini-T or a Tamiya he was talking about :p

The ST is the dominant force now :)

Its also going to be quite interesting to see if any of you '10th' guys have any interesting ideas for EGM proposals, with your experience from the bigger scale of offroading?

Chris Doughty 03-11-2008 04:16 PM

the scoring system is a bit random, but I will take the result at wycombe

Haha, I guess when I won the B final last time at a National I only beat all those many-many Blazes by my vastly superior skill?:lol: - Running the blaze I'd have been in the top three!
That makes running the Xray even more satisfying when I win then! hehe

When was it?

From what I have been told, sharks have only been popular this season I believe. Its only recently they've been easily available in the UK (since SMD started importing LRP). In August when I bought mine it was a faff and eventually got it from Holland.

As for the EGM, when and where is it? What proposals are there so far?

I like the current race format - I wouldn't copy 10th. What we have for 10th works and works well, but to copy it would be a shame as what 18th have now is very different and I think is rather cool.

Perhaps something in qualifying where the fastest two consecutive laps of a heat decides the start order for the next qualifier... so if anybody has a particular bad run, or breakage, start order is more likely to still be balanced.

To be honest, im thinking "outside of the box" because I wouldn't change anything really of what we have.

The EGM will be after the last round (March), so sometime in April in Hockley Heath (Birmingham way).

The details will be posted in 2009, im just curious to see what people are thinking :)

Ill grant you the TEK18X is a good car, its just that the original seemed to trouble everyone who bought one and so once they sold up and bought ST's there was no where for the TEKX to slot in.

Zack Berry is the lad, using an M18T Pro, however (and this is in no way a negative towards to USA Nats) but the USA rules are a million times different to ours; such as standard wheels only etc etc and their tracks are no where near as mad as ours pmsl!

The thing is, why would you spend £200ish on a car (and electrics) that wasnt going to be competitive? Excluding 2WD (cos I have no idea why 2WD isnt more popular) people are always going to get into the hobby wanting to do well and from experience and from seeing all the previous cars at these races you cant do that unless you have an ST nowadays.
