Anyone seen the lazer alpha or lazer 2000 one way diff? Not as good as the standard layshaft one way and a proper diff.

Pics please with and without.

What are you up to now ??? any way iŽll get what you want....

The electrics aren't done yet, so I'll post the chassis pics tomorrow. I fitted Welshy's narrow chassis from fibrlyte with lipo saddle's....it looks sick and feel crazy balanced. Why Welshy is racing a trf511 nowadays is beyond me, the lazer was the best designed 4wd ever.

I had to sell it as at the time was unemployed and do agree is still far superior to the new cars. If i had a shed load of spares and the mk 1 version then game on again.

Decorating unfortunately. 2wd is almost dialed, 4wd pretty much done and truck done. Still cant locate the first tub chassis for the ZX.

One way for Lazer ZX

Hi, in case some are interested in a one way differential for Lazer ZX, see below

Welsh the lazer alpha uses an hex axle and the pulley slides on to that hex axle. The pulley for the alpha is jus a single unit for front and back drive so no twin pulleys and no oneway on layshaft and no slipper.

Well im confused as why would kyosho make a oneway diff when they supplied a one way in the kit as standard. I dont think this is for the zx or zxr.

Also the picture is of the rear gear box and not the front and were talking about the diff not the layshaft pulleys.

isobarik 06-12-2010 02:47 PM

Welsh are you sure that it is for an lazer and not for an optima ???? Optima series had that onewaydiff.

Welshy40 06-12-2010 05:55 PM

I first thought optima but wasnt certain as it looked narrower but could be.

Well, there is a difference between a central one way with a front differential, and a front one way which will go solid when you turn full throttle !!
I confirm this is perfectly suitable for a Lazer ZX and also for other various Kyosho cars from this period as you mentioned.:)
This comment might not refer to the topic, sorry for that !!

Kaizen - cheers for your comments. Im now interested as to why Kyosho made it and will investigate further, as ive never come across it before for the lazer.

Cheers for the heads up on those ZXR's iso. I've got them both on my watch list now :D

kek23k 08-12-2010 08:12 PM

Welshy, it's just the centre from the Mid one-way. The grub screws locate in the housing where the pins for the gears in a geared diff sit.
