Anyone ever notice that the kyosho nitro spider's sp belt's specification is RPD and not HTD?
Both car/buggy have the same differentials. I might have to re-quote everything about the kevlar corded polyurethane belts for the lazer. I will post some pictures for all to see later. |
This is the industries' specification for metric timing belts.
http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/...sh123/Spec.jpg Notice the shape of the belts. And this is the SP belt from the nitro Spider touring car. http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_000334.jpg http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_000337.jpg http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_000338.jpg There are many forums that said the belts are HTD spec. But as I have noticed in the sp belt, the teeth are not rounded and there are no groove in the middle of the teeth. Therefore, I conclude that the SP belts are actually RPD Spec. Furthermore, the tough racing belts are STD specs, hence the S3M letters on their belts. Their belts seem soft for a high torque application and the thickness is around 2.0mm and not 2.2mm as in the industries' STD spec. Thus, Welshy, this might be the reason why your rear belt shredded in a 5 minute race. http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/.../WP_000339.jpg I am trying to get a quote for these belts from another supplier. Hopefully, their MOQ (minimum order quantity) is lower then the previous ones. |
I know someone posted it somewhere but can i find it no. The blue covered bearings are what im after. Any ideas?

Only a few more items to make it a blue work of art, and they are in progress. Set up is coming along nicely, as i've sorted the front the rear end has been stiffened with associated silver springs and hope to test this in two weeks time. The ZX-S on the other hand is now dialed for astro and cant wait to get it out to give it a good thrashing. On carpet its about one second a lap off the pace of the Ttech predator in the hands of a team driver but then again he was using the correct schumacher yellow mini pins but I had to settle for mini spikes due to over grip with the pins so maybe on the same pace outside. Im now happy with this car, taken me two years to redesign and get it right. |

Therefore, I was wrong and tough racing was right. The belts are supposed to be STD 3M, aka S3M. Sorry tough racing, but your belts are still wimpy. I will quote for S3M belts. |

You meant the slot in the middle?? Don't worry welshy, That's not for a belt tensioner mount. It's only to reduce the weight of this brace. Trust me I bought this part NIB. BTW, ron, this brace is for sale if you want a better looking one. |

Anyone seen that Traxxas TRX3 on ebay for the last couple of months. Over priced big time. I reckon he would get £80 for it not £180.
|
Anyone know what's the specification for the internal gear or spline that the small pulley have (The ones inside the rear gear box).
I am having trouble finding what the spec is. |

i can give you the cash via paypal instantly if you want, |

Thankyou for the offer, i'll see what the other one looks like first when everything red is on there, |
Welshy,
What's your opinion if I were to modify the lazer into something like the kyosho KX-one? Incorporating the front gear box, upper deck, and the rear gear box together. What down fall do you see? I will design it so that it will fit your Team Orion 5000mAh 90C. http://www.rc-car-magazin.de/rcr_fotos/401_ky_kxone.jpg |
Its been done by a friendly chappie in Japan, however he did use the TC with one belt so your idea may be what is needed. You will still need a mass of alloy to keep the motor cool but will stop flex with the CF on both sides and would be almost indestructible.
But then again why not do both designs, the front gear box you have designed would look stunning, along with the finned motor plate and as your working on now the top deck mount with fan for the original look and this:woot:. |

Alan,
Here is a picture I was on about, unfortunately I am awaiting my other emails to arrive but you can see the front 3mm spacing, also the centre poles have a 3mm spacer at the bottom and ive done the same on the rear mount and this makes the esc look small due to the height of the top deck plus also means no fan breackage as well as my 5500 90C orions fit like a dream ontop of my brass zeppin cell hole items and Rude Tony brass plate ontop of that. I hope this now makes sense. |

Do the rear gearbox zxs option and use two screws on the side and two where the pivot wishbone block is.

But just as I were driving back home from work, I thought of a very clever way to mount a thin sheet of aluminum on the gear box! muhahah! I am going to draft it up tomorrow. I will also anodize the thin sheet of aluminum blue as well. The more blue, the merrier. |
Then just put an piece of tape...
