Yes it's on the astro tomorrow " H & S concerns, due to the weather "
Rained for about half an hour first thing this morning and then the odd shower but then the sun came out  Great track with the tricky double and the triple and slippy in places. It's the first time i've been to the F345 finals and a national to be honest, can't wait for my next one !!!
Thanks alot to all concerned :thumbsup::thumbsup:

What a great meeting - Well done to the BRCA and all those at Coventry for running a great meeting. Satisfied with my two G final positions but wished I could have been a little higher because I knew I had it in me.. never mind :)

Loved the commentary today. The Yardy/Jonsey combo was great although their comments about my driving style are now in the hands of my lawyer

GO Benij and Jimmy White!!!
Well done Ash, still showing why you were up there this year!

Jonesy 18-09-2011 08:58 PM

Ed Kerry won 4wd with Andy Pearson was 2nd (from 10th on the grid!) and Ashley Caunt was 3rd.

I have never known for 3 legs like it today. After Ed had won the first 2 legs it was feasable that any of the other 9 drivers could have finished 2nd! C-Cup was 10th after 2 legs but had a 5, it was so random!

Andy Pearson took the last leg to jump to 2nd.

Good job everyone on what was a very much improved Coventry track since I was last there, superb stuff

reg 18-09-2011 09:04 PM

well done to all involved,a brill day yesterday, had probably my best race trying to push for the win in the 2wd C final, well happy with 2nd and well done to the chap that won:thumbsup:

Jonesy 18-09-2011 09:05 PM

Hope everyone enjoyed the Commentary too, there were a few 'in-jokes' which everyone may have not understood but between myself and Yardy we did try to focus on the racing when we could!

It was tough work doing all the commentary myself on Saturday and it was great to have Tom on board today. We enjoyed doing our duel commentary during the finals and I think it worked quite well.

Rebelrc 18-09-2011 09:08 PM

Congrats ashley
What car did you use?
Nice one Ed Kerry congratulations
See you Wednesday

Enjoyed the weekend. New track was good only thing i wasnt used to was the distance from the rostrum which made it difficult at times. Was happy with 2wd result final could of been better. Bit disapointed with my qualifying today. Had some bad luck. I got blitzed :p jk.. Then a nudge from my Club mate made the final fun!

Great weekend. Thanks for everyone at coventry and the BRCA for a great meeting.

Ash

firstly i'd like to say cheers to the BRCA and also everyone else involved in preparing the track and making the weekend such a success!
I thought the track was great and also thought the Jonesy/Yardy duel commentry was ace! :woot:

Congratualtions to Ed on winning 4WD, enjoyed lots of close racing throughout the whole weekend, with the random scores all weekend it was so close at the top of the pile!

Anyway thanks to all involved in making the weekend as good as it was! :)

Glad that you all enjoyed the weekend and the work on the track was worth while. Listening to laurel and hardy on the mike was my highlight of the day :-) good work Tom and Jones

If people enjoyed the weekend and are interested then we have a joint winter series with the Kidderminster website!

N7ELA 18-09-2011 09:48 PM

Was a good weekend, thanks to all those involved and thanks to Jonesy and Yardy for the commentary, was spot on!

Good days racing, nice to back on track after so long (although super super rusty!)

As for the gibber-jabber from across the PA I'm split really. I think both guys did an amazing job from a spectators point of view, really added some energy to the event. From a drivers point of view though I really struggle to maintain focused when I hear my name over the PA ... almost asked them not to mention me at all when I was racing. My problem, nothing to do with them .... will take ear plugs from the next event and get somebody to wave a flag or something when I need to start LOL :D

andy reeves 19-09-2011 07:23 AM

Great weekend. Big well done to CMCC and the BRCA for putting on such a good event. Tracks were great both day  Really enjoyed the Yardy and Jones double act.

Well done to all the winners  Bring on next year :D

Awesome weekends racing, big thanks to the Coventry crew for doing such a great job with the track:thumbsup:

mattybucks 19-09-2011 09:09 AM

Yeah it was an awesome weekend. Upto national standard, so maybe a fixture for next year?

Well done to the Coventry crew, the BRCA, and of course lads in scruitineering.

Dave Dodd 19-09-2011 10:21 AM

As above comments.. Great Weekend..

didn't do as well as i had hoped

unfortunately missed my final on saturday, having to rush my daughter off to A & E, thankfully she is fine :)

struggled with having to much rear grip on Sunday, finally got it sorted for the K final (actually Rob Jacques helped there ) and it was a blast dicing with John Barnes (i think), until my receiver went into fail safe mode  (will solder wires into the receiver i think ), but managed to finish 5th in the end..

loved the commentary

KennyClark 19-09-2011 12:49 PM

Really enjoyed the weekend.

Thought the track was great, although that double was very tricky!

Ross, you were the bollocks! Your final lap was the high light of the whole meeting

Rob_B 19-09-2011 06:12 PM

Anyone no were i could find the results from yesterday. Cheers

chris68nufc 19-09-2011 06:44 PM

Really enjoyed the tracks and the all round banter, Failed miserably in 2WD with some bad luck at the wrong times and unlucky not to make the A in 4WD, didnt start the last qualifier and a head on collision with Ed Kerry in the 3rd round stopped me in my tracks even if he was pointing the opposite way to the double:confused: so almost gave the places away to the others, thats racing i suppose:(
Well done Coventry club for a good weekend!
Well done Ash for the 2wd victory and unlucky in 4WD, thought it was going to be a double but Ed Kerry was very quick......he must have raced to a decent standard in the past??

mikeyscott 19-09-2011 06:50 PM

F1 1/8th level. He's v fast and won epr winter series last year. Even so it's a different class.

Rob_B 19-09-2011 08:44 PM

Even so it's a different class.[/QUOTE]

It is a different class, But its still the same thing, They obviously knew somthing as he was in the top heat.
