Stu 02-09-2007 09:35 PM

Stan though I really wanted the 'pro-type pic' with trophy and stuff, I had to stall a bit and try to look like I was trying to get 'the-shot' while in the backgroung....

banksy 02-09-2007 09:41 PM

Who finished where in Juniors and F2's;)

spenner 02-09-2007 09:46 PM

Well i have returned from the moon!!!!
Looking at the meeting as a whole it was a good weekend, the track wasn't great and made it very hard to drive.
Great to see top drivers like Nicky G return.
Great win in 2wd for Nick:)
Mark Stanley was rapid in 4wd today and deserved his win.

Dan Cockill was too good for the under 16's 4wd, was unlucky in qualifying but still managed to get pole, drove really well in 3rd leg to take title!!

Oh, and the best region again MID-SOUTH:) :)

PaulRotheram 02-09-2007 09:59 PM

Congrats stan! well chuffed for ya mate, piss up comin i sence hahaa.

ashleyb4 02-09-2007 10:11 PM

WOW mad.

I was the highest finishing midwest driver in the under 16. Wait i was the only mid west driver in the under 16 lol

2wd qualified b2 finished b1 with quite a considerable lead

Then 4wd qualified b2 and broke it first lap:o

It was a ace weekend thurday we stayed at a campsite and the lady had huge bofont hair it was funny friday arrived at track and laughted alot of the huge hole in fence right after a corner where everyone was going to crash and just the other side of the fence was a stream.

Saterday morning the caravan battery went flat.

Then saterday brian had a good laught at my diff and my car in general due to its almighty crap ness thanks for rebuilding it brian.

Then we found someone had reversed into somones very exspensive generator so we spent 2 hours trying to fix it but no luck. In the process i got covered in petrol. When it come to starting it i got my fire eqstingusher ready.

later that night i went to the toilet and i ended up with stan and jonesy singing burning ring of fire. After calling me a ledgend and then turning the lights off.:eh?:

Then racing carl lathem up the m6 with caravan

But welldone to matty lathem for 2wd well done to callum hodges, greg williams, conner cocker, natalie williams for there under 13 performance then where all great and looking at it i think most of them could beat me:rolleyes:

Well done to nick oliver for TQ and well done to stan for winning it. And well done to doddy and jonesy for soaking him :D

bigred5765 02-09-2007 10:19 PM

the track was very testing, in places looked like the face of the moon,
the x6 took tq and all 3 legs of the a in my little boys hands, I'm over the moon, he was smiling all evening,
4wd was slightly harder couldn't get the car to work properly, qualified second, took leg on, broke in leg 2 after being second for most of the race, tommy Moore took leg two from Dan cockill, leg 3 Matty made it to 1st then back to 2nd behind Dan cockill, wheel fell of duh ma bad (PPM)
Dan cockill took the win from tommy Moore, and the final positions were Dan cockill 4wd under 16's champ tommy Moore second Matty latham 3rd,
Stan won the f2, wasn't easy but he earned it,mike cockrill top vet,Greg Williams top under 13's,overall was good days but again shame about the track,

Lew 02-09-2007 10:25 PM

I must add, I feel sorry for good old nick oliver, TQ'ed the f2s, and didn't even do well at all! broke it first run didn't finish - broke it second run, rejoined about a minute behind everyone and snapped rear belt in the last leg!! Unlucky nick....

Also was a very costly day for me too :O My daddy came with a big wod of cash, left with 20quid... hahahahaa...

Big thanks to Kev Lee for spending the whole day on my S4, the car was a joy to drive in the end and although i didn't win, i managed to lead the last leg of the A. Don't think that wouldn't have happened if the man hadn't worked his magic:)

Cheers Kev

ashleyb4 02-09-2007 10:43 PM

Cheers Ash! The car was very good today, shame that the driver had his wild driving head on:D .
Well done to Stan and Nick on some excellent driving, you both deserved them wins.
Thanks to all at Silverstone too, for a good weekend, really good fun.

mw02veg 03-09-2007 05:31 AM

well dne to all the the winners of their respective classses was some good clean racing out there! have too say a big welll done to david poulter who has never ran a 4wd. he amazed me and a few others. he borrowed my yokomo and took to it like a duck in water he qualified 3rd and finished 3rd in the brc with some very close racing! that car was just awsome the fastest thing on the track i think many would agree.

Wraggy 03-09-2007 07:38 AM

had a fun weekends racing , not the best track ive ever raced on, very random but it was the same for everyone, but it did make for some interesting racing..
didnt do as well as hoped but i know theres still room for improvement and change of driving style also ...
well done to Nick G on his 2wd title :) very well deseved mate ..
and Stan 4wd on sunday, (didnt lose your bottle ;) )
also Dan in his 4wd U16 Win, very well deserved and under pressure in the last leg also, very mature drive .. (think you aged you Dad 10 years in the last leg)..:D

losixxx 03-09-2007 07:48 AM

losixxx 03-09-2007 08:14 AM

cheers

Nick Goodall 03-09-2007 08:22 AM

Well done to Stan for 4wd and making 2wd so close - we had an awesome first leg and between us had a good laugh at all the bets and expectation being heaped on us both :D

Massive well done to Dan Cockill for 4wd yesterday, drove really well under pressure and we all know how hard that is to do - poor Jon looked in physical pain in both the last round of qualifying and that 3rd leg :D.

Good results for Trish making both B finals too, Wraggy looked good with the S4 yesterday and i'm sure will be better at Coventry!

Well done to Matt Latham and young Greg for their wins also, some great driving in all the finals.

Thanks very much to Lee, Trish, Dave Duggan, Tony and Phil Truman, Jon Cockill, Dan & Joe, Wraggy, Ryan, Jon Spencer, Millzy, Southwell & Kev Lee for the fun and frolics pitting together both days and for all the help everyone gave me.

Good weekends racing i think despite the track being quite tricky but as Wraggy said it was the same for all so we can't knock it too much. Look forward to Coventry now then!

Yardeeee 03-09-2007 09:07 AM

Hands up who's knackered?! :D

I'm beat... and I didn't even pick up my Transmitter once! What a lot of finals... but some really great racing on what was a very tough track and surface. Well done to all the BRCA officials there, you couldn't tell the boss was missing!

Some really great performances... all the junior guys (all 17 of them in total across the 2 age groups :( ) did a great job, clean racing, particularly the under 16's, very courtious and between them, Matt Latham, Tom Moore and Dan Cockill put on a great battle all day, any one of them could have taken it either day, but Matt and Dan in 2wd and 4wd respectively did the business so well done guys!

BRC... Nick Goodall, Stan, and Brett Birch each qualified very well in 2wd, Stan never got an honest crack at taking pole by breaking it on his warm up lap of round 4... D'oh! But Nick was a worthy TQ and winner... very good stuff, welcome back! Nick Oliver... Mate, well impressed with the way you kept your head in 4wd... only finishing 2 qualifiers but taking the pole was really good... the finals were a disaster for you, you were officially the unluckiest guy there in 4wd not finishing a leg, but you showed your pace in leg 1 by building up a safe lead after just a couple laps. Stan, well done on the win, I know you don't have much 4wd experience but you pulled it out the bag... made REALLLLLLY hard work of leg 2 lol but you got to the line 1st and that's what counts! Dave Poulter... really well driven, don't think you have much 4wd experience either but on another day the title could easily have been yours, very very fast driving.

Really enjoyed the weekend, the track was 'a challenge' but all in all the venue was pretty cool, a bar on site is never a bad thing! Oh and I should mention that I had a fantastic mixed grill on saturday night from the little pub up the road, top draw, and thanks to everyone elses dislike for black pudding, got extras too! :D OJ... how's your eye? Shouldn't really eat outside when it's dark. ;)

Cheers Silverstone, see most of you at Coventry... DER DA DER DA DER, DER DER DERRRRRRRRRR... DER DA DER DA DER, DER DER DERRRRRRR!

Jonesy 03-09-2007 09:19 AM

Firstly guys thanks for making the ref job so easy for me and the team this weekend, we only gave out one warning all weekend :)

Secondly, I'm was really upset with the way the track was all weekend and I couldn't get the car round properly at all. I don't think I drove badly or did I.... :eh?:

Finally, what a great night Saturday night was!! Ring of Fire will be the new racing 'tune' for a while. Ash apologies about turning the lights off in the toilet but I really don't remember going the toilet with Stan on Saturday night. I'd also like to mention Andy Fraser for his antics on the Saturday night, I'm not sure if I should be conplimenting him or not!

ashleyb4 03-09-2007 09:37 AM

haha i didnt think you would lol theamount you had to drink.

Had a top weekend, late Saturday/Racing Sunday, thanks to all the efforts of the organizers! I feel I under qualified once again but managed to win the F final from 7th on the grid, good battle to the line with someone both of us crashing/crossing the line on our roofs. Was good fun, enjoying driving over a large pile of cars at the first corner… mint.

I seems to have lost my jacket last seen being worn by a drunk Millzy on Saturday night, if anyone picked it up let me know please? ta

Big thanks to Tony for being McDonalds taxi driver all weekend… two step!

Cheers for the comments on the refs guys, most appriciated. I'd like to take this oppotunity to openly thank Tom, Craig and Mike for their help and also to Nathan Rawles who did offer to help ref and wasn't required.

There were a few grumbles over the weekend but I think they were all resolved as and when they become public.

JCJC 03-09-2007 02:29 PM

Well, we had a great weekend's racing, the only cloud being the track cutting up, seemed to be worse on Saturday, rerouting for Sunday improved it, but it was "same for all" and all coped. Difficult with grass and the recent weather, a few weeks ago the camping/pitting area was under water, that little stream at the back of the rostrum had overflowed !!

Silverstone club guys worked hard all weekend and it seemed to me everything went well, lots of room for camping/pitting, hot food all day (well done that man), toilets & bar, and a first time national here so lots to be learned. Well done and thanks to them, and to the BRCA mob, to call them efficient would be understating, and the ref’s on the rostrums, more guys doing good work making our weekends racing more enjoyable.

We have done the last four Juniors/Vets, and did think adding other finals was packing the day out a bit too much, how wrong could I be, what a good idea that was, added to the event and fitted in perfectly. –That’s me finished saying thank you-:) :)
